Nashville Select is excited to announce the tryout dates for 15u-17u

All tryouts will take place at Brentwood Academy 5-7:30p July 31. 2020 (219 Granny White Rd, Brentwood TN 37027)

15u currently has 2 existing teams that will be looking to add 3-4 players to the existing rosters.  Pitching experience is helpful. Will also be looking for MIF and C

16u will be an open tryout.  We will be fielding a 13-15 man roster with 2-3 pitcher only players included.

17u currently has 1 existing team and will be looking to add 3-4 players. Pitching will be a focus as we look, but not a requirement

The cornerstones of our program include:1) We are player oriented. This organization was created for the players, that is the only thing that we care about. Although our teams have won a lot of games, we are not a "win at all cost" program. 2) We are about development. This team that will be assembled in 2020 will stay together for two or three years depending on start age (13U-15U). Our goal is for them to be one of the top teams when they are 15 because of the development that has taken place over those three years. We have skill development opportunities in the Fall and Winter, and we truly believe we practice more efficiently than any other program. We are not the type of program that simply meets at a tournament Friday-Sunday and then we see each other the next Friday. 3) Finally, we are about purpose and perspective. Our purpose (beyond developing baseball players) is to train men. We want to train them to be selfless, confident, and to love their teammates well. Because this is our purpose, you will never see one of our coaches ridicule or insult a player. We pride our selves on being positive, encouraging coaches. If this philosophy is aligned with your families and you have a talented ball player, then please contact Brent Thompson at nashvilleselectbaseball@gmail.com to sign up for the tryout or to hear more about our program. • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
