JDHoss
...for 2021 on the Treasure Coast... https://www.tcpalm.com/story/sports/high-school/football/2021/02/09/treasure-coasts-top-football-recruits-2022/4362515001/ The recruiting cycle for the Class of 2022 and beyond has begun across the country and the Treasure Coast again has talent that numerous schools across the country have their eye on. With an excellent senior class departing, the next crop of top-flight recruits that either have garnered high-profile offers or ones waiting to break onto the recruiting scene are ready to show that they can be productive players this fall. Whether or not a recruit can be as heralded as Vero Beach defensive standout Keanu Koht, who accepted an offer to play for the University of Alabama this fall remains to be seen, but here are eight players to keep tabs on hoping to make a name for themselves. More:Here are the Class of 2022 football recruits to watch in Palm Beach County Amarion Brown (Martin County WR) A rangy downfield threat, Brown continued to emerge as a more reliable target in the Tiger offense as a junior. The 6-foot-3 wideout totaled 31 catches for 607 yards and six touchdowns and holds offers from the likes of Florida, Miami, Texas A&M and Oregon. Ephraim Floyd (Vero Beach WR) Becoming one of the top possession receivers in the area, Floyd should have a huge senior year as the No. 1 target for the Fighting Indians and his recruitment to pick up. The 5-foot-11 wideout racked up 50 catches for 688 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior. Eden James (Treasure Coast RB) A combination of ability and great genes has vaulted the son of Hall of Famer Edgerrin James into a bonafide recruit as James ran for 751 yards and scored nine touchdowns in just seven games. At 5-foot-10, 180 pounds, James recently earned an offer from Miami, his father’s alma mater. Rod Huntley (Fort Pierce Westwood DB) After a stellar junior season leading the area in interceptions with seven and adding 13 pass breakups, Huntley holds offers from the likes of Colorado and Appalachian State. Athletic ability makes the 5-foot-10 dynamo stand out as he also stars for the Panther basketball team. James Monds (Fort Pierce Westwood DB) Another skilled talent with bloodlines to match, Monds has blossomed into one of the most coveted defensive backs in Florida. The 5-foot-10 cornerback that doubles as one of the top soccer players in the area holds offers from Clemson, Penn State, Nebraska, and Miami among others. Maurice Smith, Jr. (Fort Pierce Westwood QB) A strong arm and mobility to utilize, Smith has improved each year and his experience should lead to a big senior season as the Panthers have gone 12-4 with him as a starter the last two years. Jayquavious Thomas (Okeechobee WR) In a run-heavy Brahman offense, Thomas has shown flashes of his play-making ability on both sides of the ball since his freshman year. At 6-foot-2, Thomas holds offers already from Arkansas and Wisconsin. Fresh Walters (Centennial DB) One of the most dynamic athletes across all sports in the area, the 5-foot-9 Walters made great strides as a cover corner as a junior but shines as a return specialist with game-breaking speed as he took back four kicks last season.
