Well here we go there are a number of things wrong so let me state some bubba taylor's shot is off due to football, injury and 20 pounds barry gardner's inside troubles (does not like contact) ricardo's shot is there but some selfish tendencies are surfacing, jamal's not being aggresive enought, but thank you brandon buttin, the bench is suspect but thats to lack of exposure but even in that frame players need step up when the time comes, players cant even remember playes now that kills me, and last but not least someone else needs to step up and make the big playes in the fourth quarter besides bubba taylor, you just cant put all of the big game's on his shoulders then if he blows it then people want to cry. but as i say crying is for cry babies and there have been too much crying and not enough stepping up to the plate. Maplewood playes to the level of its copetetion ala Hillsboro instead of blowing people out which is what they can do but wont and i only hope they snap out of what ever is goig on because if not maplewood will only be a team that could have been instead of a championship team.

Don't jump off the boat yet; remember only two starters back from last year's team. Yes, the chemistry isn't there yet, but we WILL get it right! Hang in there! The kids are just not playing with the right attitude yet, but that can be cured. If it isn't cured by the end of the year, well it is my fault. We are working hard, but right now we are not playing well. I never count the Panthers out! If YOU do , then watch out. Maybe we should be proud we have won 3 games without playing a real ballgame. HUH?? Nuff said. ;)

well coach i could never get off the wagon ,maybe next year though but if they do not get it together it wont be on your head. Even though we as bball critics think we know all i tend to go with what you say since you have been in this business a lot longer than we and maplewood needs another direction to go in but you cannot do that if your players wont step up and i understand the coaching bit from this summer so my hat is off and finding a good coach is not always easy to find. Every child will not fit in anyone's program and as parents even we get frustrated with the hole process so when coaches say well you can take your child somewhere else i say dito because if your child is not happy then he or she will never be able to function properly and thats a no no. It's just better to find another place to go but you have my upmost respect no matter what you say because deep down i know you have always had my kids best intrest in mind and i thank you for it and all the others should too but they maybe could not see the whole picture at that time.

Well Maplewood is looking better and better each game and i guess it was due to both players (ricardo & bubba ) playing football with bubba's injury and lack of cohesivness but as always the wood starts slow and then ends with a bang. Jamal richardson's aggression and defence looked awesome. When ricardo, bubba and jamal get those three going like in the summer world you better look out because it will be blow out city with a capital B.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
