TSNSports
The 5th seeded Columbia Lions find themselves in the drivers seat of the District 12 4A baseball tournament with a surprising 2-0 record. The Lions beat #2 Ravenwood 9-5 Wednesday and the tournament hosts #1 Independence 8-5 on Friday. With the loss IHS had to work their way through the losers bracket with a win over Summit 8-5. The final 2 teams standing with face each other for the second time Sunday at 3pm. Columbia (2-0) will have to be beaten twice by Independence (2-1) to force a "if necessary" game Monday at 6pm. Either way both teams will also advance to regional play next week.
Kblalock21
Independence won Sunday 20-2, will play again at 6pm on Monday for the #1 seed in the regionals. Either way, Columbia did fight and claw to get into the regions. Happy for Coach Pickle, who may be retiring after this season from the talk I was hearing.
