Unfortunately the state is littered with well-intentioned people working games that have no idea what they are doing. Of course they mean well, and I know that these are volunteers, but part of the reason that athletics in Tennessee is slipping is because of the willingness to accept lower standards. 

Someone with more direct information can tell me if this is inaccurate, but my understanding is that coaches and Athletic Directors were pretty much unanimous in their support for a shot clock but it was still tabled and will be at least two years before the conversation can come back up. And even then it would take a year or two to implement once approved.  I personally think it’s long overdue. And I am not saying the shot clock should be :24 but it should be enough to force a team to do something.  To me, the worst part of the delay is that fact that there’s no argument of substance for shot clocks to be delayed. More than anything else it is an argument about having qualified people to operate them.
