Halls is overrated

hey buddy.i wonder have you had a chance to watch mitchell this year.believe me,they dont have the same team as last year.last year, halls beat mitchell by 30 on there home floor and i didnt see trenton do that either.remember, you cant be overrated to beat dyre county last season.halls still has a great team and the district is still up for grabs.im thinking of going to see trenton and mitchell friday night in trenton.the game was originally scheduled on saturday but has been changed.mitchell has some athletes.taller teams with quickness seems to give halls some problems like dyersburg did last season.halls also struggled against jcm in a two quarter scrimmage in a jamboree with the score of 38-25.if trenton doesnt stop mitchell from getting the ball to there post man and hurt them on the boards like halls did trenton severakl times last season,it will be a long night for trenton.i know trenton has severa starters and players back from last season and sisco will have his work cut out for him.mitchell has more taller athletic type players on the team then any team ive scene so far, including jcm.i only recognized 1 player mitchell had from last yer that played and that guy came off the bench at 6"6.i may be wrg about one other guy,#5 sure looked very quick.#21 is a great shooter inside the paint.halls has looked very rusty at times and got off to a slugish start against mitchell as well.one bad quarter hurt us but hopefully we learn from this loss and move on to better wins.

halls is 8-4,not 7-5.it was a 20 point game when the scrubs came in.final was 83-55.they had a bad game and any of those losses where good teams.i have to admit, dyersburg played very well and we didnt.we had chances to get back in the game starting in the third quarter but didnt take advantage of it.halls has looked very rusty especially the last two games.as bad as we played against adamsville saturday night,we still had a shot of winning.i will say this now.they arent playing very well right now.they need some other people to step up besides there two main players.if they get any consistant production from others, then, they will beat some of those good teams that had beaten them early.they are getting shots off and can handle the ball.those guys dont quite so dont count them out.

another thing zip.when halls starts playing there best, they will beat trenton.in fact, the teams they beat earlier could have beaten them if they played them at the time of there losses.we will see later.im hoping they gell later on in the season.we will find outr whose the best if all are playing at there best.when strayhorn and dewalt are at there greastest when other players play ok,we can win against any of the teams who have beaten us.ive seen these guys play enough to know.

    • Anyone know how the scrimmage at Central went?
    • I grew up watching Greene Devil Football since I could walk and still close with a lot of the coaches so should know my history pretty well lol.  Everything worked out the way it should have but firmly believe McCurry would have won some State Title if he wouldn't been let go (Greeneville still runs the same D he brought here and he let Ballard run the O and stayed out of it when it came to calling plays.  Greeneville was put out in the Semi's McCurry's last year against Maryville and the next year Greeneville stayed in 4a and was State Runner up playing were they were placed for the first time by the TSSAA.). It was definitely a McCurry and Ballard show that turned everything around along with the Community buying in and revamping the weight room and field house. Since Ballard got promoted to HC every Coach after him has been within the Greeneville Coaching staff because your right, they know what it takes to win a state championship.  Ballard was a master mine on O and what i think Greeneville has lacked since he left and let some Championships or making it to the Championship slip away over the last few years
    • Sounds like you know your area history well. Going back and looking the records were better than I thought but mostly still beating Upper East TN schools. Ballard sounds like he came/was promoted at the right time.    I do think it’s no coincidence that them keeping the HCs as guys who were former guys on the staff. Too many times schools want a “state championship” leveled coach from the outside but they don’t know the landscape. Promoting from within will help with less turnover and keep the program consistent.
