Jason Clarke?

I am wondering why Jason Clarke, a senior from FRA, hasn't been on any All-State or Mid state teams? he was the 3rd leading tackler in the state according to the Tennessean after 10 games with 133. He had 20 tackles against Boyd Buchanan and 15 against McEwen. You know from watching him that he is a great defensive player, yet he's not even seen an honorable mention. This is a big overlook.

The problem is one of perception, there are no outstanding players on poor teams.

Then what would you call Aaron Cothran? Im not saying that Clarke is outstanding, but he deserves some recognition, and he is much better than some of the other people listed.

You must be kidding. Fairview went 8 and 4 during the season. During this run they upset Huntingdon during the playoffs. Cothran had an outstanding season as part of that run.

 

FRA was 4-6, haven't beat DCA, CPA, and/or Ezell in what, the last three years.

 

The only upsets FRA has accomplished is upsetting players and parents.

 

Football is a team sport, as such, the whole team rises or falls. As it rises, a few outstanding players get recognition. But when you are in the basement, no one stands out.

No. When FRA scrimmaged Fairview this summer, FRA was far superior. Fairview did not play teams like Ezell, CPA, DCA, Trousdale, or Boyd Buchanan this year. Ezell has only beaten FRA the past two years. Fairview would not have been able to beat DCA and CPA in probably the past 10 years. There is more to measuring a team's ability than record, such as opponent quality.

Let me off you some Dutch uncle advise, life is not fair. Whoever sold you on that idea, lied to you. Go get your money back.

 

Cothran had great press coverage throughout the year, which combined with with a winning record and a winning team, is a sure formula. Clarke had none of these.

 

Let's move on, the past is just that.
