I was fortunate to witness three of the games last night and what dandies they were. First off North Greene beats Cloudland with a fifteen footer at the buzzer to win by one(51-50). Next, Unaka makes a three pointer with two seconds left to beat H.V. by three(66-63) and finally Hampton and Whitesburg went down to the wire before Whitesburg won out 78-72. Three great games that were not decided until the final seconds. That's what tournament action is all about. Saturday night's games will be: Cloudland vs. Happy Valley, Unaka vs. North Greene, Hampton vs. Unicoi Co., and finally for the championship will be Whitesburg vs. University High.

Unaka probably got more freshmen out this year than in several years. (Even after the PETERS kid went to Betsy, which in the long run may have been a blessing team-wise)The best freshmen so far this year seems to be the Lowe and Greer kids. Both seem to give 110% and show lots of talent. The Waters boy is a good player but isn't ready for Varsity yet.

I thought this thread was about results but I cannot find out who won the tournament. All the talk is about losing teams. Oh, the winner was not from Carter County so the winner is not important.

Volunteer did not win it's tournament but I listed all the scores. Why can you not do the same?

University High won the tournament. Bradley is a real player. He is a junior who will be to old to play his senior season. Unaka has a good team. Played well after an opening day loss. I think they won 2 games. Happy Valley has lots of talent but I won't get into it. Hampton does good with the talent they have. Tolley could be a fine player for Cloudland but seems to be a non favorite to his coach. Bradley and Chambers was fun to watch, so was Byrd. They had some close games in that tournament and the crowds were very good.
