soddy won. dont know the scores. i hear 125 was a good match. brown was winning 3-1 with 12 sec. left and elsea hit him with 2 stalling points in 12 seconds. then they go in double overtime and they start to wrestle for about 4 seconds and the clock messes up and elsea dont take know time of the clock when they restart it and bird gets away with 1 second left.

bird did not look good tonight, but brown forced the call by obviously running from bird in the last few seconds. had he simply stood his groung, the win was his. no score in the first. bird got one to start the second, but gave up a very weak takedown at the very end of the period. he cut brown at the start of the 3rd, and that's the way it stayed until the stall calls. in the first overtime, bird took brown to his back, but did not establish control before they went out of bounds. when the second overtime started, the clock was still being set. they stopped right away, set the clock, and then started the final overtime. i don't know what the rule is, but it wouldn't have seemed fair to deduct those few seconds from the overtime, since they stopped it in the midst of the action. anyway, it was after about 28 seconds when bird finally got his leg free from brown.

soddy wrestled strong virtually all the way thru the lineup. even in losing, brown (of course) did well, as did will phillips (keeping jeffers to a 1-pt win) and smith and turner - who both refused to be pinned.

it was 22-21 soddy with 5 matches to go, but ER just couldn't get it done in the matches they had to have.

overby (ER) got his 20th pin of the season (in just 27 matches).
