Pregame and Postgame Food and Drinks

Just curious if this is still a big deal with coaches anymore? You dont hear alot about it and if it is what do coaches recommend for before games and after games. Ok also saw this in baseball thread and got my curiosity up. Why do the schools not feed our girls like the football teams get. I know 50 games to 10 games but it wouldnt hurt to feed them every once in awhile.

I am not a coach but I do follow sports training practices, and last summer at a camp at Vandy they made a few suggestions. 1. Eat your pregame meal at lunch(this should be high in carbs) 2. Drink a regular sized sports drink one hour before the game 3. Only drink water during the game 4. Drink a regular sized sports drink one hour after the game This keeps the nutrients in the body level and prevents dehydration.
