Will sports at Clarksville Acedemy be a memory?

Clarksville Academy over the last three years has taken hugh steps backward in their sports program. You have a football team that is just over four years removed from the Clinc bowl and had eight straight appearances in the playoffs to not even having a team this year. Their boys basketball team has not won a game this year. Over the last 7 years under coach Jackson the boy's basketball team went to the Sectionals and have always went to the regional tournment. In one year they have become the wosrt sports program in the midstate. Everything starts at the top and the leadership from the headmaster has been subpar. His biggest mistake has been forcing out Coach Jackson. Coach Jackson has gone to Cheatham County and turned a 1-27 team around to a 9-11 record the tied for 3rd in their district. My Question is why get rid of a good coach? It is a shame that what took so long to build by many hardworking people has been brought down by one person. Maybe someone will clue in and make a change before it is too late

I have a friend that applied for that job last year from East Tennessee. He is a young, hardworking, and very talented coach. He took a job at another school and is going to be 1 or 2 in his region with a team that hadn't won in five years. He told me that it wasn't a place that seemed to care if they even had a sports program. Their MAJOR loss.

That's sad. CA has a history of good athletics, and few want it to go down the tubes. Let's hope the administration does something, because the loss of an athletics program would also mean the loss of students, current or future.

Clarksville Academy just don't have a lot of talent this year. Give Coach Kendrick a chance to get some quality players,

Alex Bowers about the best player he has.... Come on give the man a chance. Coaches need players, Players need coaches, they work hand & hand.

Clarksville Academy is undersized, and they don't have a lot of quick people, They depend on one Player to carry them & he can't do it all. don't give up YET???? Next year they will be a better TEAM!!!!!!!!

all i can say is it starts form our headmaster. BEFORE HE came the school was run by johny miller. Once the new headmaster stepped in everythign changed. All the perosnal affiliated with the millers were removed as was coach jackson. Coach jaackson one of the hardest working and best coaches in tn was forced to resign because he stood up for what he believed in. Athletics isnt a priority at our school anymore its all about money, selfish people, and 100% academics. Its as if the headmaster jsut hires people to replace actual coaches jsut so well have a "team". He doesnt care if we compete or not and its not our fault. As far as bball goes, coach kendrick has plenty to work with, were young, good athletes , we have ok size but things just arent going his way right now and it starts from the administration. Its aweful. A lot of good athletes probably will be leaving and its ashame to see a top athletic school in a city go to waste because ignorant people.
