There certainly was noise-a-plenty from the Highlander fans at the game; and yes, even to the bitter end they were very vocal. Moore County had a lot go their way in the fourth quarter, and justifiably so, they cheered the loudest as they sensed sweet victory. That's nothing new in sports; but the Lander faithful were standing in full applause as the devastated Lady Landers walked off the court.

Hey, camaro, just curious, but what on earth's up with the cheerleaders? With such fan support as you guys have, what could possibly have caused the Cheerleading Squad to not show up for the honor of cheering at the State Tournament?

The lack of support at the game surprised me. I thought there would be alot more people there. I believe Roan Mountain was represented as a community that don't care about the school which I know and the rest of you know is not true. Seems that football gets all the attention in our community. I think it is ashame that the cheerleaders were not there no matter the reason. The ones that were not there and had a chance should have been there to support the team. I understand ones who have to work but they closed down the schools so where was the teachers  . I hope we can improve on our support before next year. Anyway Congrats to the Lady Landers on an awesome season and to the seniors we will miss you.

It was a definite shame that a team as good as the Cloudland girls didn't have near the support as the moore county team and I beleive that that could have been the difference in the game in the 4th quarter. Me being a basketball player I think that Cloudland needs support in all sports not just football. Anyway thanks Lady Highlanders on a great season.

    • Don't forget about Mike Wright (Father Ryan) and his son-n-law Engle Martin (MBA).  Those two QB's were recruited by everyone in the country.
    • Former players and insiders are the easy hire and the most difficult terminations.  Just hire the very best candidate available and surround them with a great staff and good things will follow.
    • We lost a ton of starters from last year and some VERY good players. We do have a lot of talent coming back but we are young. Gordy leads the pack...
    • There are a few qualified candidates teaching in the middle school with the necessary qualifications.  BJ West was a former principle, Coach Cothron has his endorsements I believe, and would be a great choice IMO, Mrs. Belcher has every endorsement possible and is a great teacher. I believe there is another person or two that I’m forgetting that has the necessary qualifications to apply. The middle school is a great school with little turnover, so I hope it come from someone inside that building
