Yea, CCS is likely to repeat as state champs for team boys, and is favored to take the doubles title with the duo of Cliff Cook and Ray Davenport. The Girls singles title looks to stay in the Chattanooga area for the 5th year in row with Julie Mages of Hixson taking the reigns from CCS grad Ellen Rogers 4 year reign. And the Boys state singles runner-up Stanford Goss of Arts & Sciences looks to take the next step and claim the title as he nearly did last year in the close three set final. This looks to be a big year for the lower east side!!!

Donelson Christian Academy took the District 11 Team title from David Lipscomb by the score of 3-2 with the clinching point a 3 set match with 7-5 tiebreaker in the 3rd. Those two are probably the best 2 teams in A-AA this year with the major losses CCS had from last year. Can the Kara Cook and the twins carry the load? David Lipscomb probably had the best team if the State 5 and 2 format was played. DCA's girls kind of specialize in either singles or doubles.

CCS only chance is if there 3-5 singles player can come through and maybe get a chance to score a doubles point.

All Tennessee High Schools ought to be lobbying the TSSAA for more participants to get to go to state as teams and individuals since the venues are supposed to be larger in Memphis.

    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
    • I heard Alabama was at Antioch practice and Colorado has offered QB. Hoping the Bears have a great year.
