yes, yes we did beat lipscomb during the regular season, which would put at least CPA in front of them.

My fastest serve ever is 115, but that was in practice, id say in a school match, ive probably hit 100+. The average serve speed varies greatly depending on school. For instance, my collective team's average would be about 70+, whereas a team like McCallie or Baylor would collectively average anwhere from 95-120 mph.

please refer back to several of the previous statements made in this thread. the state championship game is in the past, us whipping you relentlessly and ruining your undefeated season was in the past, and you winning your state title was in the past (4 seasons, by my count) so why dont you try encouraging your team to do better next year instead of putting down my team.

I heard he was being recruted by Georgia Tech as well, but I think because of the size issue, he would be better suited for a college wide reciever, unless he can become the next eric crouch, and knowing him, i think that is a possibility.

mstreet1777: You need a heck of a team to finish third in region 5 and they came together and did it. They are to be commended. So Congratulations Third Place, Region 5 1A hey, bud, first of all, we were first in region 3 1A not 5 1A, and we finished first. We also finished second in the state, which would mean that we would be first in ant region except for CPA, who is in region 5 1A, so even if you looked at it that way, we would still be second. And if im not mistaken, Ezell lost nowhere near the state final, which would put them behind us if you wanted to be dumb and pretend we are in region 5. my educated guess would be that you are an Ezell fan who is bitter because you realized that boyd's loss to you was a fluke [Edited by boydbucbarry on 12-10-02 7:52A]

I think i'll be the first boyd fan to say this, but i think Coach Pack from CPA did an amazing job on Friday and throughout the season. Throughout the first half and overtime on Friday, we were simply shut down, and it was the first team to do that to us all year (sorry Ezell, we didnt play well enough against you for it to count). If it weren't for Will's scrambling ability, it would've gotten really ugly. Congradulations to Coach Pack and his team for a great season.

Having seen the Boyd-Buchanan-CPA state final on Friday, i was in awe of how good a high school football game could be. My question to you is, what is the best high school football game you've ever seen? please describe the game for those who haven't heard about it.

Congradulations to the CPA players and coaching staff, you played an incredible game and truly earned our respect as boyd fans. One great thing that i noticed about this game as opposed to our other games along the way was that the cheering from both sides was for their own teams, and not to put down their opponent. This was the greatest high school football game i've ever seen, and i feel privilaged to have been there.

any way you look at it, we still had a better year than you. sorry you're stuck in the past. And by the way, we dont need to come up to Ezell, we'll have our own "tropy" soon enough.

If anybody knows where the jerk that accused Boyd of recruiting Matt Peardon went, please draw him to this thread, I'd like to have words with him.

I'm not trying to take anything away from Ward, but there are several people on this thread who have mentioned how good of a punter he is and how good his defensive production is. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he won Class 1A Mr. Football for backs. The fact that he punts and plays defense doesn't factor into it in any way, shape or form. Id also like to say that there were two other candidates, both of whom could have had a good argument for winning Mr. Football, so please quit trying to bring them down in your arguments.

Timmy50, How far in the past are we talking, because it sure didnt happen this season. We have had one loss (Ezell) and our Defensive coordinator took responsiblity for that. Coach Akins took our team from that game and made them into the team you know today, AT LEAST one of the top 2 teams in the state. There was no choking involved. Oh, just so you all know, when I said he was the best, I was just talking about 1-A. I dont know enough about other division's coaches to place Coach Akins over them. Dear #18, im so proud that you arent full of yourself even after losing. Yes, I am a boyd fan, and yes, y'all did beat us. I have heard a lot of your fans and players talking bad about us, and they just arent seeing the big picture. First, you sould probably alloow one bad game per season, ours happened to be against you. Second, it made us a better team. No disrespect to your team, but it is people like these fans that make people root against Boyd, and that just isnt fair.

If you think the dawgpound is the only group of fans that can get into opposing player's heads, you're wrong. Last week at gordonsville, they had to send their athletic director over to our side of the stands to settle our fans down. I just figured that ex-players would be more concerned with cheering on their team than against their opponents. You've got a very tough opponent this week in Boyd, and your team will need all of the encouragement they can get.
