Best 3A Teams

Just curious what your top 5 girls teams are in 3A

2. Shelbyville

4. Oak Ridge

5.Heritage

1. Mt. Juliet

2. Jackson Northside

3. Shelbyville

4. Sevier County

5. Oak Ridge

 

I think the state champion will ultimately come out of this group too.

hey froggy and scballfreak,how can u list shelbville,they have already lost 3 games.i admit they will probably be at the state but this is a poll.

Sleep23 is right, the bottom line is that Shelbyville has the best talent in the state. It remains to be seen whether or not they can put it together to make a sustained run at a title but if I had to put money on it I would say they will be in the mix when the dust clears.

3. Craigmont (6-0)(get real people--Two USA Today All-Americans and 6 players from the Showboats?)

5. Ridgeway(Tough schedule with a few wins, a few losses and a close call to SC)

It is a shame that people including myself don't get to see basketball across the state. Kirby has 5 players that played on the West Tenn Lady Tigers that lost to Sportshop by 3 and led most of the game.

I have seen all 4 of these teams. White and Oak are better. Kirby and Ridgeway are very good also, but not as good.

Kirby in place of Ridgeway Carmel

I wouldn't put them in Ridgeway's place at all. They are having chemistry problems and lost to an "Ashley Shields-less" Melrose squad by a decent amount, plus lost to Central as well. Ridgeway is getting my nod because they have done what no one else has--gone out and played the best, even though they took a few L's (plus they sneaked up on Jackson County). Kirby plays a two-man game and a team with a starting 5 that talented shouldn't have already lost twice--and its only going to get worse if they don't fix some things over there chemistry-wise.

 

As far as the other guy saying who is better, I doubt very seriously that he has traveled to this part of the state and seen any teams over here since the season started. Bob, we don't have to beg and plead for people to believe and respect this part of the state for its basketball-worthiness. Everyone knows the talent is so spread around here in Memphis but it all comes out in the wash during AAU season where we have dominated lately. Just check the number of state titles, runner-up finishes and Nationals places in recent times. And this is from ONE city...not a conglomerate of girls from several different towns and counties. If this wasn't true, Insell himself wouldn't keep trying to lure our girls over there to play on his AAU teams...he's an excellent coach, no doubt, but we have proven that we can do it ourselves in the summer.
