What are the reasons behind Perry County's slow start? Just lost too much from last year? How is the climate in Linden?

Perry Co did lose 3 starters from last year and they have fallen short the first couple of games but all together this is a good team. They picked themselves up and played a very good game with C.A. With losing 3 guys who played alot throughout their high school years is tough. And the guys stepping up have not had much playing time but they are working together very well and are doing a good job. I really think they will turn around this week and start a new road for victory's. The coaches are doing what they think is right and we will see how it turns out. Yes Slatten was a good coach but Haskins is too. Good Luck Vikings!!

4 trips to the state . 2 trips to the finals. 1997 37-0 , last undefeated team in the state, the only one in PCHS history. Besides 8 district games each played all 2-A and 3-A schedule for the 5 years he was coach. Only 1 trip to the dance since. Come on back!

perry county doesnt have near as much talent as they did a few years ago..........(Kirk Hasten was an NBA player and a really good college player)....... thats why they arent doing as good. they do have a pretty good coach though. Where did slatten go?

It's funny how some of you Perry County fans act. I didn't hear to many complaints about Haskins last year when yall were in the state. If you haven't noticed the talent level is way down from where it was last season. haskins is doing fine. Maybe you need to back them up more instead of begging for a new coach.

Slatten was a very good caring coach in Perry Co and he helped not only the kids that played high school but also worked with the middle school kids. He looked not only at the years while he was there but what was comming up. When he left this never happened again. Yes Haskins is doing good but talent is from what they have been taught and the skills they have learned. Noone is complaining about Haskins that I have heard of but Slatten was a good coach here and noone here will tell you any different. Alot of the kids who play now do not have the skills and have not had as much playing time as the kids last year did. So you can't say it is lack of talent. The more you play the more you learn and the more you improve. This team can play better if they want to. As they say "You have to want it to win it" Who knows what will happen the rest of the year but Perry Co basketball is the same no matter who coaches. It is tradition and Perry Co has talent no matter who coaches.

I will agree with you on that NUMBERONE, Perry County is tradition. Haskins is still young. I believe we will improve as he gets older just like players do. He will be fine, still learning the ropes. But hey it is Perry County and yall will win in the end, history shows that.
