Ok, then the question needs to be clarified. Harder to win, or harder to place? It's harder to win 160. I think they are close on placing difficulty. So many of the 152s are streaky...Espinoza, Gessler, Johnson. All of them are good wrestlers, but they could go all the way or be put out in the second round, depending on how they are wrestling that day.

112,119, 125,and 130 in D1 are the toughest weight classes. More state champs and placers in the first 2 . Lots of tough wwrestlers in 125. Top to bottom 130 is the most competitive and wide open. It was hurt some when Boyce quit. Toughest weight classes for anyone to claim due to outstanding returning champs are 119, 125,135, and 160. Many feel those weights are foregone conclusions as far as the state champ goes. 152 does not have a totally dominate wrestler, any of those mentioned could come out on top as they are all good, but no Gibson, James, Lane, or Cordell. Overall strength assuming no changes, 119,130,125,112,152. If your looking for parity, 130 and 152. In d2 no question its 112 as far as strength and competiveness.

Just a couple of things messenger--At 152, Borneman has to be the dominant wrestler. He has already pinned Gessler and Espinoza, and he was a runner-up last year. He's the odds-on favorite, no doubt. Of the 4 "gimme" weights, I'd say that Cordell will have the toughest time. He's got Ibrahim, Fuller (beat Ibrahim 7-4), and Warfield (if healthy) to deal with. But you are right, he's definitely the favorite. I think he's the most upsetable of the four, though. He's the weakest, and if he gets caught, he's in trouble. Then again, I've never really seen him get caught.

Your right Borneman should be favored, but doesent seem as sure as the others I mentioned. Your also right if you combine d1 and d2 then you have to add Marable and Manley who probably are the two best overall.. I was talking d1 only. Also Fuller is very good but just lost 2 recently, one to freshman Young of McCallie who is good, and one to Unranked east ridge wrestler. These wrestlers are tough, but pretty sure Cordell wouldnt lose to either one.

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
