sh3ppard
This is my first year doing track and i was wondering what some "better than average" heights and distances for the high jump and long jump, Thanks.
SatchUmp
High Jump - I'd guess 6 foot. Long Jump - 20 foot in Regions. 22+ foot at State
AMJabali
Watch out for James Jones from Anderson County is gonna tear up the High Jump
800trackmom
You will definitely need well over 6 feet to win state in high jump. I would think 22 feet might get you to state but it probably won't win. Maybe 23+ to win in AAA.
SHS_Runner
In A/AA a good long jump is about 21 feet.....Last year you could qualify for state with state if you had a 21-5. I had a 21-4 last year as a sophmore. My freshmen year my regional jump was 20 feet....And I missed state by one inch....So both years I missed state by 1 inch....And my region jump would have won me second in the state if I would have made it in the regions. I got third in the regions. High jump is about 6-2 or 6-3 if you want to go to state.... I'd like to ask how the other long jumpers train? SHS_Runner
Yeah I believe I remember James Jones if he's the one that Jumped for Cambell County. He set some record at the meet I was at. Like 6-8 or 6-9....But I heard he could never land the big jump against a rival from another school. I can't remember that guys name. But I believe Jame Jones had the better jump during the regular season....So I wish Jones better luck this year!
InsindEric
Better watch out for Brandon Diaz from McMinn! He jumped a 19' 6.0" last year just messing around at home. He also flys in the 200 and we may have him do the 400 as well!
Tiger Lilly
i heard this guy from Fulton was good. I think his name was Ronnie Collins or something. He went to state jumping 22 ft in the long jump. I'm not sure if he won or not though. I met him at state but couldn't stay both days, so i never found out.
