Doug Varner Resigns

As of this morning Sale Creek's boy's head coach and girl's assistant coach, Doug Varner, resigned. He is staying at Sale Creek to teach so before all the rumors start know that he is not going to be coaching anywhere else either.

Does anyone have a confirmation of this? And if this is true, anyone have any idea why? Doug has always done a great job with the program and Sale Creek will definitely miss him whether they realize it now or later.

Coach Varner has three small children and he wanted to spend more time with them. He felt that coaching was taking too much time away from his family. He believes he should put the highest priority on being a father and coaching was not allowing him the time to do that. Coach has done a great job in his five years at Sale Creek. Sale Creek will definitely miss having Doug Varner at the helm.
