The pioneers got a victoryover SG the other ,both teams seemed kinda flat although Rutledge did explode for 7 runs in the 1st.

I think some of those freshman and sophmores are by commitee;langley,nicely,wilson,starbird,dalton,dalton,&horseley.

Rutledge is now 10-3 with a win over the only unbeaten team in the state in aa.. CumberlandGap 7-1.... Rutledge won 11-3.....

Rutledge plays West Greene Thursday @ West Greene.....Mabry and Irwin are throwing...Mab has only 1 walk in 15 inngs with a .93era ....Just as strong Irwin has a 1.05 era. West Greene will be very lucky to score.

The pioneers seem to be headed to the regionals unless pigeon , doak or SG can slow them down.

Rutledge should when the district and district tour..No excuse with the talent they have. The big question is who will come in second; Cumberland Gap can beat anybody with there big boy on the mound. He has good pop, decent control and he has avg. off speed. A few runs and a good performance by ths kid and your done in the first round if you play THE GAP. PF is a scrappy bunch with a great coach. There best game is when Cannon is on the mound (what a baseball name). He has a good curve and fair pop; what makes him more effective is the difference in his fastball and curve. Cannon throws a looping curve, with alot of spin and can spot both pitches. Cumberland Gap,Union Co. West Greene, Claiborne Co., South Greene and C-D will all trade wins through the season but the top 3 will finish like this. 1.Rutledge

Rutledge (11-3) beat West Greene 13-3........ Rutledge was 11-27 at the plate. Zack Mabry got the win (4-0) on 4 ks, 4 hits ,3 runs, 0 earned runs and o bb.

Brandon Harris led the way with 5 rbi's with 3-4 performance. Rutledge will be on the field monday at 4:30 against Claibrone Co.

Me too doubleplay. The series has been good for both Rutledge and Volunteer. It's a shame that they won't be making this up this season.
