2004 South Doyle Hoops Classic

April 16th – 18th

 

 

• Boys Age Divisions: 5th/6th Grade (11/12 yrs.old), 7th/8th Grade (13/14 yrs. old), 9th/10th Grade (15/16 yrs. old) and 11th/12th Grade (16/17 yrs. old)

• Over 80 AAU and high school teams have competed in each of the past 2 years

• Each team guaranteed 3 games

• Winners of each pool will play for championship on Sunday (trophy for champion)

• Officials will be provided

• Concession stand and balls will be provided

• Great way to get game competition for your team during the spring season

• $150 entry fee ($125 for 2 or more teams)

• Deadline: April 12th $25 late registration fee will be applied after the April 12th deadline.

I see where the Shooters are playing 15-under, but they have several 16-year olds and a 17-year old (Brad Foley a rising senior at Kingston) on their team. Are the South-Doyle folks going to allow this to happen this weekend? They should be playing in their own age division.

Look at it this way. Whoever puts kids that are older in a younger age group are only cheating themselves. Those players are not playing up or above their level and it will show during the season next year, when winning really counts. Remember, whatever happens, this is just a tournament for kids to get better. If your players play older kids, hopefully they will get better. The teams that do this only hurt themselves. That's howI look at it. My motto: "Adversity only makes you BETTER!"
