crkjon
I got the chance to see this spectacle at our last meet....it was crazy, the throwers got in a 4 by 40 meter relay and the winners got a piece of pizza. Has n e body else done or heard of it???
Guest kenwoodrun
We do a 4x100 "Buffalo" relay every year in our all-area meet that we call "Border Wars". It's made up of shot/disc people and it is a spectacle, yes. The highlight of any meet is to see the buffaloes roam.
Red81KPsmash
This is an American classic event. Many teams in the IMAC run the fat boy relay, even had it as a nonscoring event at the conference meet several years ago. I think it should become a state level event. In order to be on the relay, you must weigh at least 250.

crkjon
Maryville has like one, but we say any person that throws is allowed to be on it.......i mean i only weigh 160 lbs so that would stink if they moved it up to 250 lbs
Red81KPsmash
The only reason for the weight limit is so no one says a 56s 400m guy is a thrower and messes up the race. If you are a legitimate thrower and have no real speed to speak of, you can run in this race.
20Dawgs
See, the thing is, if you are a legitimate thrower you are going to have good speed. Fat guys don't win throwing events. Muscular, athletic people do. Edited April 18, 2004 by 20Dawgs
MaryvilleRebels
Jon, who are you? You throw for Maryville? Ohh yea, and Maryville's fatman relay last year was the greatest...Brandon Waters tore everyone apart! Haha...ohh yea, just thought I'd throw this out there...Carl Stewart threw disc for us, he could be on there, he ran like a 4.4 forty. MaryvilleRebels
Ohh well it was the year before then. We did it at umm...Anderson County. That was the same meet we were preparing Carl Stewart to run the mile (for decathalon). Halfway through a girl came up to him and gave him a candy bar, he ate it as he ran/walked. He also got down in a starting block stance and sprinted the last 100 meters.
