The only reason McCallie is ranked so low is because they have played such harder teams to improve their skills. MBA and Mus have not played as many of hard teams. Just take a look at their schedule and you can tell the difference.

Losses to teams like MUS, Lassiter, Episcopal, Highland Park, and Durham definitely hurt McCallie because these teams are nothing particularly special. MBA, MUS, and McCallie are one the same level as NC private school lax, and MBA and MUS have each beaten Durham or CCDS in recent history, while McCallie has played them close. TX teams have a losing record against TN teams, as do GA teams. Episcopal always has some good players, but rarely does anything special in VA. McDonough is a good team. They are the only real boost to McCallie's schedule.

When it comes to laxpower rankings, you can't even consider to take them seriously - EVER. Look in the archives at what the previous state champs were ranked, and you'll see amazing jumps after the state championship. Just look at the jump for MBA when they beat MUS and McCallie's drop in the South after an overtime loss to MBA. When you lose to MBA you lose to their schedule as well. McCallie went from 9 to 58, and Christian Brothers is 56 (McCallie 12, CBHS 0). Lovett is 39, Westminster 29, Cordova (26) and Franklin/Centennial (45) were above McCallie as well. The Rankings mean absolutely nothing.

"MBA and MUS have each beaten Durham or CCDS in recent history"

keyword there being history. Who has MBA played this year that is competitive outside of tennessee ?

After losing 5 seniors with 4 years of varsity game experience and a boat load of other seniors, it doesnt take a brain child to figure out that you dont want to load up the begining of your schedule. MBA was smart in scheduling teams that would give them an opportunity to get some younger players badly needed experience. That being said, just because DA and Episcopal are from out of state, it doesn't make them good teams. From top to bottom, NC private school lax is better than TN lax, but the top 3 in TN, in my opinion, are better than DA and CCDS on a regular basis. The same thing holds true for TX. Better overall, but the top in TN could beat the top in TX. GA is nowhere close. I've seen Westminister play this year, and they are nothing special at all. Neither is Lassiter. McDonough, that is a powerful team, but that is it. Episcopal has a couple of good players, but the team is nothing special. Besides, you have to win some of the big games for them to matter.

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
