Baylaredraydaz is not helping McCallie's rep. He's in his own NASTY world. Wash before you get back on this board. Redtwin, can you get this guy off the board?
  2. actionjackson is just a little hostile - Easy bro', you're getting credit from everyone else - including MUS players. Camo92 posted that thing at 2am after the game - right when the cup arrived in Chattanooga.

So Brafford's a great riding attackman as well.

Brafford had 3g, 2a vs. Farragut

Redtwin gets really defensive when it comes to SOS, but it is justified. The level of play in TN is certainly comparable to higher ranked teams. But it's going to take a win at a McD. or Episcopal to get the deserved attention. McCallie played McD. similar to the way they played MUS the first time. Not amazing, but definitely noteworthy. Both GA state champs, Texas state champs (MUS played also, along with DA), McD. and Episcopal. Clearly the travel and preparation for these teams is much more rigorous then staying with an All-TN schedule, or having teams travel to your place. McCallie took their hits early, and were prepared for any situation in the playoffs.

    All-State

Here's a Rant for this topic not directed at anyone or from any perspective, just an old school attitude, my apologies for the randomness: Too much attention is paid to individual recogniton for a team sport. If stats should decide selection, why vote? If your player deserves the honor, vote lower since you can't vote for your own. Too much potential corruption, especially when all teams haven't played one another. Way too easy to make a player sound and look great/or not so great. Unknown opponents from out of state may not do a players stats justice. I don't doubt that individual recognition is important, but how goals were scored, consistent definitions of statistics, and performance in crucial games are nearly impossible to justify in a 2 hour meeting. There is no easy way to recognize efforts, you can only hope that decisions are kept within the spirit of the game, if not, the accolades mean nothing.
  7. McCallie earned a #1 seed, traveled six hours to Memphis, had their game moved up an hour. They clearly had the same challenges as any other team this weekend. Def. held MUS to their lowest off. output all year. A class act with the best parents in TN. . .well-deserved championship for McCallie. It doesn't matter who the best is in Feb., Mar., Apr., but what they learn from those games, who shows up for the games that count. Cupo led all scorers on Sat., Baucom made some sick saves, Brakebill dominated the faceoff X and was the least selfish player on the field. Congrats McCallie - 2004 D-1 State Champs.

    Popularity

Women's sports are gay? It's that kind of garbage that makes Unanymous89 look legitimate. Lacrosse's continued popularity is due in large part to the women's game. It increases the number of participants, coaches and families that get involved. If any school wants to start a lacrosse program, start a girls program at the same time and see it grow a whole lot quicker. It's puts pressure on other schools to start programs. Equity is here and it's a great thing. Plus, lax chicks rock anyway. I guarantee half of you couldn't move the ball the way some of these girls do. No pocket, more players on the field, tons more strategy, gettin' cracked on the head with a piece of hickory. Big deal they can't body check, watch the Men's Final Four in a few weeks, you'll see less then 5 guys gettin' blown up per game.
  9. Anyone have a score or breakdown?
  10. "Great players don't always make great coaches" (by some successful coach who was a sub-par player. . .or a great player who fell flat on his face.) Other than stating resumes, how have assistant coaches contributed to their programs - AS COACHES?

    Best Goalie

Thank you for proving my point!! In order to establish the best goalie, state the facts. Another point in all of this is the difficulty in choosing the best individuals for a team sport, seems to lead to pointless bickering. Each goalie is a tremendous leader for their respective teams, and it's just too bad that one is eventually going to get more recognition than another.

    Best Goalie

You'd make a great journalist for the NY Times, the way you butcher quotes. Way to take it out of context, then state the obvious.

    Lax Camps

You may want to discuss some marketing strategies with Coach Harvey - most guys are sending checks to camp in the next two weeks. He would make a killing if he gets the word out.
