What is everyone's opinion of the Cougars chances this year. I got to watch them play The Hill last week and they looked pretty good. Weatherford can really play. I was somewhat disappointed in the post players though. Beverly and Leonard are really no answer for the departure of Dunford and O'Dell. Beverly would be better suited (in my opinion) on the wing, and Leonard doesn't look like he plays hard all the time. What does everyone else think?

In my opinion - Central should definitely be on top of the Watauga Conf. this year. The Cougars are a lot deeper this year than they have been in the past. Beverly and Leonard will develop at the post as the season progresses. They didn't get a lot of minutes last year. Should be an exciting season !!

How can SC replace all of that talent from last year? It will be a great feat if Coach can do it. I think the team to beat, based solely on talent, is Happy Valley. They are twelve to fourteen players deep with juniors and seniors. It will be interesting to see when Central and the Warriors tangle - two great coaches with great teams!

Got to see the Cougars play at D-B Saturday against Knox Fulton. They looked really good. I may have to change my opinion of their post players. Leonard played great, as did Beverly. If these two guys come around, this team will be hard to beat. I agree that Happy Valley is the pick to win the conference. It will be an interesting matchup between these two teams. Hope Coach V can have the troops ready! Good Luck Cougars!

Central should be pretty tough, I know they lost two big men that will pretty much impossible to replace, but Beverly and Leonard will do a good job this year. I wish they would get a little more respect from the other conferences though. I think they got a shot at winning regionals, hope they can go as far as last year or better.

    • Hope the catcher on baseball team come back out and play's football . He didn't play last year if I remember but I don't remember much after that wreck anyways.. But he did play his freshman and soph years and I thought was a very good player. He's put on some size now, so I'm hoping he's thinking about playing again..
    • Pirates are young this year.  Gordy can sleep on them.
    • They’ll get it worked out eventually.Farragut is too good of a program to be down for long. As an OR fan, I can’t really say I’m too distraught about it though.
    • I didn’t even see that until you said something, but I don’t think it’s that bad. Yes, the coaches can’t get along with each other. But I don’t think they’re openly taking shots at each other right in front of the parents. If they are, that’s pitiful though, that’s really pitiful. I sure hope they’re not, but yeah, I’ve heard the same thing from players over at Farragut getting fed up, and I feel as though what the coaching staff has been trying to keep under the prying eyes of the parents is now out on full display.
    • and there is definitely a reason for that—more than just Catholic recruiting.
