Why would you pick TYNER so far down in this region? They are still a magnet school aren't they?

That is a questionable pick, but you can never tell about them. They always have some good athetes, but just can't tell what they will have on the field.

Changing regions doesn't equate to wins. Whether is Maryville or Union County you have to come to play, prepare, and do what it takes to win.

 

Seymour is the favorite to win this region IMO, then Carter, Rutledge and Pigeon Forge will fight for the next three spots.

It will be a battle between Seymour and Knoxville Carter, but I read where Carter has alot coming back. Including a QB and all his Receivers. Defense will be the key. Carter should be able to score. Seymour struggled at first last year, but managed to pick it up about midway.

Leonard: I'm curious as to why you picked region 3-4a the way you did. Granted, Maryville will have a good defense, but Central only lost 4 starters and the game is at Central earlier in the year. Also, West lost almost all of their skill position players while Powell did lose a few kids, most of the talent positions return. I see Central and Maryville in the top 3 teams in the state and Powell as a top 10 team.

Knox Central is still a very good football team, but they lose one of my favorite kids to watch Terence Scott. They must find someone with his skills quickly. Helton and DA DA are good athletes, but they can't beat Maryville by themselves. Maryville had as many kids on the bench that could play as most teams have on their whole team. Every other year Maryville loses star players, and every year they reload.

 

As for Powell and West.

Powell had the biggest OL that ever came out of Knoxville last year, yet the running game was average. The one player besides the QB Cody Watts, was Lee Smith. They lose two of their best linemen. They are not fast at all. On the other hand West will be young, but Cummings always has a good offense. It also depends on when the two play each other. If they play early the edge goes to Powell, but if Cummings has some time with his players then I give West the edge. This year could be a big question for the 3rd and 4th place positions.

 

I had started this thread to see how others would rank the regions. I was hoping for others to post their region picks.
