  1. Was the kid academically eligible? There has to be a reason why he didn't try to play at Anderson County
  2. How is Kohl Henke from Boyd Buchanan, and how is his recruiting coming along?
  3. It is very hard to beat the same team twice, just like you all have already stated. Especially with a team that has had as much success as Fulton has had over the years. Rosser has done a tremendous job, and could turn a few younger kids into being a Bobcat instead of a Falcon with another win. Fulton is always going to be good and depth has been on their side as of the last 10 years, but that depth could become an issue with the success of Central, and AE this year. This is going to be a hard game to call.
  4. What is everyone's thoughts on where Fulton would be if they had not had Mobley all year? He has been a huge part of the success they have and a tremendous player.
  5. I was badly mistaken at the first of the year when I thought that the amount of athletes that Crockett had would lead them to a strong season. Not sure what has been the reason behind a non successful season. On the other hand, Brad Conley always does a great job with the talent level he has, and that is usually not a very fast team either.
  6. Nothing can take place until the transcripts come and official school info. Not a signature needed for this and Receiving school applies through TSSAA, I have done this on many occasions. Maybe something has changed in the last 6 months.
  7. JD- Please don't say Big Byrd!!!!!!!!!!
  8. If the parents are divorced or live separately and the student has made the move from one to another, could also be a reason to have to have a signature. Other than that, no signature is needed if he moves addresses and school zones. The parent thing can be done only once as the excuse.
  9. I am thinking this might be a great year for the Pioneers. Athletes seem to finding their way there.
  10. No Leonard could have cared less about either team. I just know that Alcoa is not the same Alcoa that I've seen in the past. If you were at that scrimmage you would have seen that Elizabethton looked better than Alcoa at first. I saw the same players play on both sides for Elizabethton while Alcoa has got the depth. I love the game of football and don't have the same Rose colored glasses the Tornadoes and Cyclones may have.
  11. I don't ever see Alcoa letting anyone do anything. Elizabethton did move the ball down field easily on Alcoa the first series. I saw a long throw by Alcoa go for a score, and a few good runs, but early on it was not a good scrimmage for Alcoa in the earlier parts of the scrimmage. Sure the depth is and will be a factor for Alcoa against any team they play in District play because very few teams at that level have the depth and numbers they have. That's how it is when you win a lot. Alcoa is always be a top team and will continue that, but from what I saw the first part of the scrimmage was so much closer than Scots50 is letting on.
  12. What I saw was that depth after the 1's will hurt as the season goes on for Elizabethton. I'm not sure what the final score was, but when the 1's were in, it was a very close scrimmage.
  13. The Alcoa vs Elizabethton scrimmage was much closer than I thought it would be. Cyclones moved the ball downfield easily the first couple series. Alcoa does not seem very solid up front. As for the Cyclons, they were in the Tornadoes backfield often. I was really impressed with the upper East TN D-line. Of course both teams were missing athletes due to spring sports, and not sure who that hurt the most. Rankin will have his team back to the old, but their overall size is not what I've seen in the past.
  14. Catholic is the front runner until someone knocks them off. All the skill players are back, and the box players only have to replace a couple. They will be good again.
  15. I agree the "It" and "Wow" Factors are the big thing. If you have not seen and really watched some of the 7v7 games that are not school sponsored then you have not seen what I am talking about. $300 for a travel team is a good price. Unless you are blessed to have 5 or 6 players on your team that are a legitimate D1 FBS player, or you play those type of teams weekly then you don't understand the difference. In a typical 7v7 Travel team tournament there will be some of the best athletes on teams that allow other players to work against. That alone is great experience. Getting that kind of experience before you go to a college camp keeps you from getting really Embarrassed. In travel 7v7 a player will play against 7 great athletes on defense instead of when you are playing against maybe 2 in your regular high school game. QB's, WR's, LB's, and DB's get to go against the best of the best each game. If you have not watched a true NFA7v7 Tournment, Pylon Tournament or many of the others then you have not seen how the game is changing. By the way, Many of those coaches that think that 7v7 is not a huge benefit to their players, are not winning State titles. I would like for some names of Teams in the state of TN that are winning State Titles that don't have players playing 7v7. Please let me know.
  16. How many College coaches offer players at colleg camps? The college camps are ran with a 7v7 format. Even the OL/DL competitions are based on the passing game. Players that are doing 7v7 are getting themselves prepared to go to camps more than they realize. If you look at the amount of skill players playing 7v7 and those that are not, then you will see who's getting offers and who's not. The % of players that are playing 7v7 are much higher % getting Scholarships now. The term exposure is over rated in many aspects of football combines though. If you want to look at a Money Racket then look at the combines, now that is the money racket!!
  17. I do feel like Catholic and Fulton as much better competition than any of the teams that they don't have as common opponents. I do believe that Greeneville is a great team, but schedule is schedule and Central has the harder of the two. It's going to be a great game.
  18. #36 Chase Kuerschen is a big time play maker for Catholic. He was not in game shape or ready to play the last time these two met. He's very physical, fast, quick, and strong. Catholic's young Quarterback will be a key to how well their offense performs this week. Should be a great game. I'm just not sure that Catholic can stop all the weapons that Fulton has offensively. Williams and Dobson are both great players, and will allow enough attention that the other WR's get open. Mobley will have to be contained with shorter than 3 yard runs. I'm calling ..................................., not sure, but Fulton is still leading in the post season win column against Catholic until Catholic does something about it.
  19. This will be a hard game to call. I had the chance to see players from both teams during the off season, and was impressed with all of them. Leadership on the field is going to play a huge role in the outcome of the game, and depending on how many times Knox Central's Howard touches the ball should give us a better idea of how well Central's offense will do against the Greene Devils Defense. I was able to see the game against Fulton and when the ball was in his hands, he made plays. The problem was he only got about 5 or 6 touches. They have some tremendous athletes like that of Greeneville, but the experience playing much better competition favors the Bobcats. The Bobcats have a tremendous following this year like the Devils are used to having each year. Going to be a great game and one that I picked to be the top game of East Tennessee.
  20. UC is at the lowest I've seen a team. 40 years of watching football at an understanding level, and never seen anything any worse. I really feel sorry for them. Looks like 7th graders playing and really bad at that. Like one of those bad youth teams where the players just started playing the day before the first game.
  21. Young Ballard will do great things at Greeneville for the next couple of years. Looking forward to a Fulton vs Greeneville matchup in the Playoffs.
