I am strictly speaking of my own opinion. Loy led off last year because they didn't have a leadoff man. Loy is a good hitter, but he's not a leadoff man. On most teams, he'd be hitting 2 or 5. I'd say he might be at 6 or 7 this year. Of course everything depends on how everyone else does. It's a little early at this point. Now, about Ryan Williams - he is a sophomore this year, but has the potential to be a vital part of this years' Owls offense. He's very good at getting on base, and he's definately the fastest player for the Owls. In a non-scientific 60- yard dash the other day, I believe it was Williams, Burke, Hydas with the fastest times. He's got a great mind for the game, and if he can just keep his head on straight, Williams could be starting for the Owls. But he's got to FIRST prove himself on the field. nokona2
well it is good that you point out williams grad b/c now i am aware that the owls have him to contribute... never heard of him until now, but you are right, loy isn't your typical leadoff man... but still a good hitter
OwlsBaseball
Williams is extremely fast... along with him and Hunter Hydas, you can expect the Owls to be stealing a lot of bases this year. Hopefully Ooltewah can live up to its strong reputation its receiving so far this year by showing a good performance against Farragut in a scrimmage a week from tomorrow.
