Brentwood defeats Page

The Brentwood Lady Bruins rolled into Rudderville to win a close match over the Page Lady Patriots 3-2 (17-25, 19-25, 25-16, 25-18, 15-9). Page appeared to be in control after winning the first two games, but Brentwood never gave up and came back to win the final three games to take the win. Brentwood was led by Senior Emily VanGrinsven with 22 Pts (21 Kills, 1 Ace) that included 9 Kills in Game 4. Senior Lauren Kaufman had 17 Pts (10 Kills, 4 Blks, 3 Aces) and Sophomore Alexis Spahn had 16 Pts (9 Kills, 7 Aces) where she served 5 Aces in the critical game 3. Brentwood's Setters combined for 45 Assists with JR Nicole Poland having 23 and Freshman Hunter Thompson had 22 along with 4 Kills.

 

Page was led by Junior Molly Locke with 20 Pts (17 Kills, 3 Aces) as Senior Kelly Mills had 15 Kills. Sophomore Maggie Allen had 6 Kills and 1 Block. Senior Setter Tayler McGuire had 38 Assists along with 2 Kills and 2 Aces. Junior Kayla Townsend led the team in block with 2 and also added a kill.

 

Page will have a rematch with Brentwood on Oct. 7 in Brentwood and could see them again in this weekend's Brentwood Invitational at A-Game Sportsplex in Cool Springs.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
