Grapple on the Gridiron 2018 - June 2nd @ Independence High School

A wrestling tournament for ALL ages (Boys and Girls) hosted OUTSIDE on the football field at Independence High School “UNDER THE LIGHTS”.

 

Tournament to benefit the Tennessee Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Indy Eagles Wrestling Club. 

 

Date:  Saturday, June 2nd

Where:  Independence HS, 1776 Declaration Way, Thompson’s Station, TN

 

 

Weigh ins:  2:30 to 3:30 pm (June 2nd)

Wrestling Begins:  5:00 pm (MEDALS FOR TOP 3 in each weight class)

Finals under the Lights:  8 pm (estimated start time)

Cost:  $20 pre-registration (before May 21st), $25 after May 21st

Registration through Trackwrestling, search "Grapple"  Limited to first 400 entries

The Grapple is this Saturday, make sure you get signed up soon.  Go to Trackwrestling website and search "Grapple"

Weather looks to be shaping up nicely and this event is one of a kind!  Don't miss this year's Grapple on the Gridiron!!!

Reminder on a couple small changes:

Weigh-ins:  Friday, June 1st from 7 to 8 pm OR Saturday, June 2nd from 5:00 to 5:30 pm

Wrestling will start at approximately 6:30 pm.

We are 2 days away from the 2nd Grapple on the Gridiron tournament and we currently have 150 wrestlers signed up for the different divisions.  Weather is looking fantastic and we are excited for a great turnout.  We have 7 states represented so far:  TN, IL, IN, PA, KY, AL,VA.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county  
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
