  1. It depends on the spread warrior4ever is willing to give and if Crowder is back.
  2. Stone Memorial's Evan Sanders. Excellent punter, 71 yards is the longest. He has very good placement of his punts with good hang time. On kick off 80+% are touchbacks. Pretty good field goal kicker, 41 yards is this years longest.
  3. Elementary schools vs middle school is not the answer. I moved here from Metro Atlanta (Cobb Co.). They have 6-8 grade, NO SPORTS period, but they have band. They have 23+ 5to6A High schools and some are very programs. I guess when schools have 3000+ it's easy to find 100 boys to play ball. One of the biggest problems here is we lose a lot of kids (at both schools) between 8th and 9th so we have no depth. If we had all the boys from all the Ele. schools zoned for Stone we would have had over 60 kids on the freshman team, instead we end up with about 14-16 and added to the Varsity we end up with 50 or so. Why do they quite? Is it the parent's afraid of their child getting hurt? Or are the kids just lazy and want to play xbox? I think we lose kids because of the Elem. school coaching or lack of. I see the coaches playing the same 10 kids on every play and the rest of the team are cheerleaders. I do realize that some coaches are worse than others, but the more a kid gets to play the more they want to play and learn to love the game. We have to get the kids motivated!
  4. Stone Memorial JV 18 Walker Valley JV 8.
  5. Montery,si? a little spanish lingo there. By 7.
  6. When I said "recruit" it was a shot at KC, 3A team that dressed 110 players, must be nice. I may be wrong but it seems that the school board and county is more basketball than football. Am I wrong? Coaches at both schools need to work with elementary school's to develop players. What happens here is the future of High School ball. I attend alot of HES games and see 30-40 kids on the sideline and 12 kids from both school playing, so what happens is by the time they get to HS the majority quite. Alot of times it is the big slow kid who would make a great lineman later in High school. Good luck to both school's.
  7. Sorry, but I like small school's. I do think the TSSAA needs to look at a better way to split a school. It's like giving a death sentence to the sporting program's. I felt we both should have been dropped to weaker regions to give us a chance to rebuild. By the way, where is Crabtree, Potter and Parson? They where pretty good ball players. To bad we can't recruit, we could use Crabtree!
  8. Stone freshman/jv will play WalkerValley this monday at 6:30 in Cleveland.
  9. No excuses, just the facts. I said Scott looked good, as the score showed. As far has your other comments, you need a school tour my friend. Yes we has a beautiful campus, a nice parking lot, the field is getting better. The weight room is tiny and is shared with ALL sports, boys and girls. You coiuld have bought better equipment at Dick's. Yes we have a nice new field house, that is shared with baseball, softball amd soccer. Our old school has much better Football facilites than we do. I know all older schools would like a new campus, but the new campus does not come with all the tools needed to field a football team. We are a new school put in the best 3A region in the state! Give me a break!! You guy's have a good established program and that is what we hope to have someday, until then look for us to make excuses! LOL.
  10. Who will win? I know nothing about Ensworth, do you?
  11. Read my thoughts on the main page. Before the school split CCHS had a so-so program, some say it was poor coaches other team attitude. If you were to take and put the school back together (I'M NOT FOR THAT, by the way) CCHS may have won a few games. You guys stayed in a 5A region and we where sent to the best 3A region in the state. I often wonder who in Cumberland Co. upset off the TSSAA! I just wish we could recruit like private school's. Any way, good luck, we are pulling for you guys!
  12. With All the new schools being built and older school losing players, I think the TSSAA needs to realign the regions. New schools have no program and they have damaged other school programs in thier area's. We all know that if you have a losing program it is hard to get kid's to play, where everyone wants to play for the winner. If you don't believe this just look at the squad size of a losing team vs the play off bound team. As you can tell I am from an affected school, so I may be bias, but I think there is a solution to this growing problem. What do you think?
  13. It would have been a better game if we had a QB. 2nd string was hurt and 3rd had to play both sides of the ball. Scott still looked good.
  14. Tam's off to the Highlander's, good game!!
  15. Stone Memorial Freshman/JV team looked good against Sparta. They won by 7 or 10, not sure of the score. The 1st game was cancelled due to heat. Next week they play Bradley Co.
  16. SEE YOU ON FRIDAY NIGHT!! Hope you have you helmets on tight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. I was there as well, it was a JV game, AND all I saw all night was the same group of boys.
  18. Last year this was a very exciting game. The two JV's played their hearts out with Stone stopping Scott with 1st and goal with 2:00 on the clock. Stone won by 4. Both teams should have all players returning so this will be a rematch. I pick Stone by 3.
  19. Knox Catholic Jr. College? NO, the others wait and see, back to the question, Stone vs Scott. Last year stone played Scotts JV, so I assume that both teams will return all players. Last year Stone won in a game that went down to the wire. Look for a good game, could go either way.
  20. You are dead wrong about the No body cares bowl, WE DO.....the nobody cares attitude may have been at our old school, but not here. What is amazing about our coach is his way with kids, that can not teach that, you can learn new plays. Thanks for the good luck, lord knows we will need it in this region.
  21. To build a great football program here at Stone will take time............and $$MONEY$$!!, lots of it! If you look at all the powerhouses accross the country they all have first class training facilites. We need our own field house with our own weight room, better training equipment, send our coaches and staff to camps so they can learn and get the 7 and 8 grade coach's on our page. We need to get the kids parent's involved with the team and booster club's, we need to stress school and making good grades so if we do have stand outs and they are offered a chance to play in college they will be able to go. Look at KC, they have very thing I mentioned, and more. We CAN build a great program here and the time to do it is now, with this new school and a new attitude. Coach Davis has a way with kids that is amazing, so let's get behind him and start a field house fund. This would be a step in the right direction. As far as the game....I think we can hang with them, but for how long? Last year we lost the second game to the DCA varsity squad 42-0, we regrouped and finished the season pretty good. Maybe history repeats it's self. Good Luck Panthers!!
