  1. Not such a big feat when you have twice the enrollment, twice the athletes. But no sweep for Region 4 this year.
  2. Exactly. And as far a Blackman beating Lincoln County being mentioned over and over, LC is much improved since the 2nd game of the season. Biggest improvement during the season that I have seen from them in a long time. Oh, nobody thought LC could beat Lebanon last year either. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  3. Great ballgame. Congrats LC!! Defense, Defense, Defense. Really stepped it up in the last 3 weeks. Carry it on into the playoffs AT HOME BABY!! We need the Pit rockin' next week!! I bet CC's coach wishes now he had kicked the FG at the end of the first half. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Like I said before, no way CC scores 41, nor 31 on this defense. CC has a good ball team though. Best of luck next week.
  4. You're seeing something, for sure.... The most points scored on LC this year was 28, by the #1 team in the state, with 8 of LC's starters suspended. No way CC scores 41 on this defense. Also, out of the teams CC has scored 41+ on, they are a combined 9-26, and have allowed an average of 5.5 yards on the ground. Out of the stats I have available to me, CC has averaged 5.6 on the ground on the year. LC has only allowed 3.9 per carry. Take Riverdale out of there, and they have only given up 3.3 YPC. Just for comparison, Riverdale has allowed 3.3 YPC on the year. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  5. OK, LC Defense, you have been called out. Step up!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. OK, that's why Cookeville lost. Go with that.
  7. Maybe not. The deciding factor is which LC offense shows up. From what I hear, CC is 85% run, and is going to have trouble running the ball on the LC defense.
  8. I have a question. In THIS ARTICLE it states "Riverdale's undefeated season and 83-game district/region winning streak is still alive." How can that be? If I'm not mistaken, didn't Smyrna beat Riverdale in the playoffs last year? Isn't that a district/region game? Is this only counting regular season games? Or does this use the same math as Alabama fans that say they have 97 National titles? /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  9. Both undefeated in the region. It comes down to Friday night. LC - 24 CC - 14
  10. I agree, there was some bad officiating both ways, but they did not give LC the 4th timeout. They didn't call a penalty, but they told them they were out of timeouts and made them get lined back up on the ball. At that point Cookeville was lined up for a field goal to tie, so IMO, it didn't make any difference in the outcome of the game. Cookeville just didn't get it done in overtime. LC gave away several chances to win the game earlier. It really shouldn't have come down to OT. But you have to play every down, so..... Way to go Falcons!! Now, go beat Coffee County and take the region title!!!
  11. From the TSSAA Handbook, online at http://tssaa.org/Handbook/football.pdf: D. In the event of a tie for the region winner, runner-up, third-place, or fourth-place team, if either team(s) has defeated the other(s) in regular-season play, the team(s) shall be rated above the other(s) in the standings. (After the region winner has been determined, the tie-breaker procedure shall begin all over again starting at the top to work out the runner-up position. The procedure shall be repeated to determine the third- and fourth-place teams.) E. The following tie-breaking procedures shall be applied and all regular-season games, both region and non-region, shall count (After each of the following steps have been applied, item C above shall be applied.): 1. The team with the greatest number of victories. 2. The team who has the greatest number of victories over teams winning 50 percent or more of their games. 3. The team whose opponents have earned the most victories. 4. The team whose opponents have received fewer defeats. 5. The team who has the greatest number of victories over teams in its own class. 6. Ten yardline overtime procedure at neutral site Monday night at 7:30 P.M. That last one tickles me. I guess if all else is even, they line 'em up on the 10 on Monday night and let 'em play for it. LOL
  12. Any thoughts on this game? I don't know anything about Baylor, other than they have lost to some quality football teams.
  13. Great info, thanks. tipsy, I don't know if you were talking to me or Malcon, but my son is a senior, Wide Receiver, last I knew, he was running a 4.6 40, he is about 5-11, 155.
  14. My son got 2 letters from, for lack of a better term, recruiting or scouting companies. One is an invite to play in the King Kamehameha Pigskin Classic in Hawaii, which costs $2300. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" It's addressed from Vic Wallace, the head coach at Lambuth University in Jackson, TN. I'm not sure what this is all about, unless it's to get him exposure to coaches. It's tied to a company called "Elite Sports International". The other is from "Recruit College Sports Scouting", which is located in Maryland. The letter states "Based on the athletic ability our scout observed" they want to setup a personal evaluation interview with him and his parents. Are these some types of scams, or what? I feel almost certain they haven't seen him play in person, and not sure who they target, nor why, or if it's just "shotgun effect" marketing. The one about the Hawaii trip even spelled his name waaaay wrong. He plays in a small town that doesn't get much attention, and is not a superstar athlete with every college in the country beating down the door, but I would love to get him in somewhere on a scholarship, and he would love nothing more than to play college football. I'm just looking for some input from some who may have already gone through the recruiting process.
  15. I understand that. I'm wondering if it was used in this game. It was 40 or 50 something to 0 in the second half.
  16. Does anybody know if this rule was used in the Lincoln County/Cumberland County game 2 Fridays ago? It was 35-0 in the first quarter. Just curious.
