I agree with the whole concept that the kids have been made soft by their parents, ac, not having to be outside working, etc. However that being said these people are the still parents and seeing as they are unlikely to change the way they are raising there children these kids have to be protected somehow. Granted I believe it would be more beneficial for the players if they were made to adjust to the heat, but unfortunatly since these young men no longer seem to be able to handle the heat it's not worth taking the chance that one may have a heat stroke or worse pass away playing a game. At the end of the day if a rule is in place to protect these young men regardless of our thoughts on it the teams have an obligation to adhere to this rule, and a parent has every right to "stick their nose into team business" if they feel that these rules are being circumvented.

Maybe I was wrong and they marked the ball further back than I thought (I didn't walk down to see the exact spot). Personaly I thought he sould have gotten the TD on the dive and it would've been a moot point. Bottomline though I think everyone is in agreement that both the youngmen from Jo Byrns and Forrest both looked strong to be this early in the year.

Actually we were 2 for 3 for punching it in from inside the 5 that one just stood out because it was such a big play that got us there and we didn't capitalize, but look at the bright side how often can we say we hit a field goal.

I'm doing good though I'm a little shocked to find out that CoachT is now letting the fox run the henhouse. How have things been on the west side of the state?

The Red Devils looked strong tonight against Forrest. The 1st string scored 3 times on offense and tacked on one more off a pick six. The Devils also hit a field goal after being unable to punch it from the one yard line after about a 50 to 60 yd pass set them up on the door step. On the defensive side of things Forrest was able to move the ball well between the twenties but the Devils were able to bow up and get the stop on every possesion but once that I can recall. All and all it was a very solid performance for the Devils tonight in the dungeon.

I hear you moto...I don't think any of the players on both sides are takin this game lightly and it good to be optimistic... its just that WC folks aren't used to this getting picked to lose stuff, and people should feel good about JBs chances in this match up seein as how they have won every meeting between the two teams. This WC team this year though is the team that has a chance...if that D just stays fired up. Also, I watched #44 on some youtube videos. It looked like he can hit pretty hard. I can't wait to see him square off against #41, #8. It should be some slobernokers. This is gonna be a hard nosed physical football game. I just hope its injury free. Go Cats. Don't sell your team short JB hasn't won every match up against WC I know of one in the mid nineties that you guys won against the Devils.

Yes I can dispute them because regardless of what you feel you still have to go by facts and the facts are 1A TC #1 JB # 2 2A Alcoa #1 Milan #2 and so on and so on. You should not make the assumption that any of the other teams out of the east would have beaten the representive from the west and to do so is the equivilant of using ifs and buts in relationship to a teams loss trying to prove that you should have won when the fact is you lost.

Well I want to congratulate TC on winning the gold ball. That offensive line you guys run behind was amazing and we just couldn't seem to find an answer for it, but apparantly neither could anyone else this year. Now for JB you guys have had an incredible season and accomplished more than an team before you. It was an amazing and impressive ride and I am excited to see what the future holds now that this team has gotten a taste of the big game I fully expect to see us get back to it.

Good article it was interesting to see that this took place before the creation of Jo Byrns when there were still schools in both Adams and Cedar Hill.

It does stink but the decision probably lies with the county school board and since there are four other highschools in our county that probably had some bearing on the decision

Thanks for the compliment I have been impressed by how far JB has come over the last 4 yrs. As far as the TC goes there program is unparalled as far as the sucess they have had over the years it should be an impressive hard hitting game Friday.

Key word guess because that is all any of us can do JB has done all that can be asked of them they have beaten everyone put in front of them so far in the playoffs and there is no point in the what if comparisons to teams they haven't played. There is only one thing that is a fact at this moment and that is that TC and JB are number 1 & 2 in the state the order will be determined Friday, but all the crowing about JB being the fourth, fifth, sixth best means nothing because no one will ever be able to prove otherwise.

All this talk about JB not haven a chance has me thinkin back to when I played ball back in 71 in Virginia they had just integrated our school and replace coach Yost with coach Boone. Nobody gave us a chance in the title game either there was no way we could win, but we kicked, scratched, and clawed just to keep it close. Then finally at the end of the game we ran a fake 21 blast georgie boy reverse and was able to score to win the game.
