How do I go about doing this because on of my very close friends was in the finals and would love to have a copy of at least his match. I know that Mr. Jones would have it since this young man wrestled his son but if there is anyway you could tell me how to get this copy for him it would be greatly appreciated

jones to me seems like a really good man and he has done a lot for Tennessee and the sport of wrestling in general. Sucks that the state finals couldn't be broadcast but it happens. My one question does anyone know where I could find a copy of the tape of the state finals because I would like my middle school kids to see some really good wrestling since they didn't have the means of getting to the tournament.

just to throw something out there I think someone that should be talked about that is not getting any recognition is Logan Henley of Signal Mountain. He won region 4 last weekend and is currently undefeated. his brother was a state champion a few years ago at rhea county and I think that he will be the next one to join the ranks if not this year possibly next. now know that he might not have wrestled the best competition all year but he did beat Gamble 7-1 last week(Gamble was ranked #2 on Bray's Rankings). just a thought to keep in mind when you are drawing up your brackets.

I am glad to here we do agree and if I interperted your post wrong I apoloigze. I was just simply responding to the statement of you calling him a "wuss" and I didn't know if you meant for bumping away from Toon or for the stalling. I was simply trying to state that this was not his decision because I know Smith presonally and know he would never run away from such a talented wrestler as Tyler Toon. These are the matches wrestlers live for. Anytime you get to go out on the mat against such quaility talent is a good night win or lose. I will look foward to watchin Smith and Toon at some point during the season(possible match up at Bradley this weekend). Now that we have cleared up or misunderstanding I will focus more on the question you asked. I will give it to you that Smith could have initiated more action (and if you watch the film and knew who I was you would see me yellin at Smith to take him down again) and I think being a little out of shape could have been the problem there but conditioning can be fixed but it still isn't an excuse for a sub par preformance. Also to answer the other question Smith would have gave up 2 points for the next stalling call then DQ could be mistaken but pretty sure. Now one last thing in Smiths defense the ref let the stalling call go and he noticed that and did what he had to do to win. Wish it wouldn't have ended like that but it did. Yes this was a great match to watch and the Ooltewah teams are always going to be strong based off great leadership from Coach Weathers. After this match I am also lookin foward to seeing some of these great match ups again at Bradley. Now to the comments made by 76Lumberjack on the Hixson heavyweight (Smith) bumping down. This is a concept called good coaching and putting a team in the right position to win the match but obviously you don't understand that. Obviously Coach Weathers understand the concept of good coaching because he tried to make a move also by bumping Toon to HWT and just got unlucky on the coin toss. Now maybe Smith did fail in putting the man he wrestled through the mat but didn't fail on putting him about 6 feet over it with a pretty lateral but thats not the point. Maybe he should have possibly pinned the kid at 215 as you seem to think he should have but he didn't and his teammates picked him up and got some big wins, the biggest one comin at 130. This was a great match and hope to see many more like it this season!!!!! Keep makin Hixson proud Wildcats!!!!!!

I don't know when the last time Hixson beat Soddy was but I do know as a former Hixson wrestler it makes me proud to see the Hixson program move in the direction they are going right now!!! This was a great win and just one more big step for Coach Hall and company. Now to Soddy, this is a great program and I know come region time Coach Henry will have that team ready to roll. Good luck to both teams on the season and GO WILDCATS!!!!!!!

Thats awesome sam is a good girl but college is goin pretty smooth right now but on thing I miss is the mat I can't wait to get back in the room soon!! Hoping that there is goin to be some good wrestlin this year in Chattanooga but I am sure that there will be and see you at some of the matches.

He was a round away from placing last year losing to both the 4th and 6th place winners as a freshman. Like I said before this is just a start, as i see more wrestling they will change but as of now this is who i see. Justin Mathison from Hixson placed 4th in the Freshman Nationals last year and who i think got kinda shell shocked by his first state tournament or he would of placed and I think it is right to place him here this year. Also Hixson along with Logan Vandergriff and Justin Mathison (who were the only to I saw on the list from Hixson) have two other very good wrestlers in Zach McCarter who was ranked in the state going in to the Region Tournament in a very tough 171 pound class last year and Nick Alemany. It's only the preseason and I realize that many kids will rise and fall in the rankings but I would just keep these kids in consideration. Good list and looking forward to a great '09-'10 season!!!!!

McCarter of Hixson is one of the best dual threat QB's in the area hands down. He had a great season last year and is very capable of taking over games with his arm or feet. Christopher of red bank is also a very good. He has good people surrounding him and many years of experience under his belt that should help him and his team maybe make a run this year. All these kids mentioned on this board are great players and it will be very interesting to sit back and watch them play this year.

I think that bear cat is right i think everyone needs to get over it. it was in fun and a joke hopefully it will heat up the rivalary more. its not like anyone did anything to a wrestler and it looks like there are really no hard feelings between the wrestler. these post just seem like a bunch of upset parents get over it the only on that is acatually level headed here is bear cat and by the way i have seen the film and no one stomped on any shirt i have seen the film and can prove it. if you would like a copy i am sure i could get you one. lets just get back to what is important right now and that is wrestling

Hixson and Notre Dame is one of the best rivalries I have seen in a long time. I feel privileged to have been a part of it for 4 years and will miss it dearly. Anyways I would just like to say that I have nothin but respect for the boys in green but I hope that this rivalry will continue to be one of the best ones in the Chattanooga Area. Regradless of everything that goes on between the teams (crap talk and all) I am just happy that Chattanooga dominated the State Duals again this year. Thanks for some great memories and see everyone at region and state.

the 171 pounder from hixson zach mccarter is goin to be a force this year in state he was a good but ran into some bad luck at region. if he keeps his head on straight he can make a run

For me I would have to say it would be McCallie and Bradley but McCallie being the toughest hands down

I would have to say campbell lewis. he is a very good wrestler i have wacthed over the years expect him to be in the runnig for state quick. i have heard alot about jack boone but never seen him wrestle so i can not make a comment on him yet but those are two good wrestlers. anyone know what weight boone is expected to be at this year?
