That sounds very strong for the starting lineup. I would love to see Shelbyville play you guys again and watch Twilley vs Gooch and Andrews vs Hammonds. Kerry and Gooch have the size advantage on both but Twilley and Andrews are right there in speed and guard play together. Hammonds and Andrews are the best two out of the four but Kerry has the advantage with his size. Andrews is the best shooter out of the four IMO. Hope to see this game as well as a Shelbyville - Oakland matchup.

In the minds of Siegel fans who are on here what is considered an acceptable season this year? Just wondered what Siegel Grad and others deemed as acceptable and not acceptable?

LOL you are kidding right??? Coach Adkins has built this program to be good over the next many years. Jo Byrns played with TC all night and has as good a shot as anyone to make it back to the championship game this year. They are not on TC or SP's level as far as gold balls, tradition, or wins but they are building a program that they hope to start getting to that level. Also nice 19 posts, welcome to CoachT!!

Who would you say is the best point guard in 7AAA? Which team has the most size overall? Also which team is the best guard play team and best down low team play? Sorry for all of the questions, just wondered if there were different teams with better strenghts in one place or if there is a team that has it all and is the best in all categories. Thanks !

More thank likely will go to Carkuff since Cascade won the district. Very unusual for the 3rd place team to be given the individual award.

Two questions? Does Siegel get an automatic bid into the regional tourney? Also, do they have to play first round against Warren County? I guess it is different for 8AAA due to uneven teams in their district.

Play Ensworth or Giles County. That will boost the strength of schedule up alot. Gotta beat the best to be the best.

Cascade and Eagleville can play with and beat anyone in this region along with CA. The two teams that represent this region in the substate can play with Culleoka also. Cascade and Eagleville seem to be hitting their stride so the district and regional tournements should be exciting.

Well like I said I will go with the most logical choice and say both districts top seeds advance to the second round. Anything can happen though in either district when tournament time starts. I guess thats why they play the games. Good luck to all teams as tourney time nears.

Is the first round of regionals at the #1 and #2 seeds place this season? Will be a tough road game for both sides traveling in the first round. I think top two seeds advance to second round.

I understand that Siegel was not in first place last season. That was more of me saying that Siegel was the best team in that district by talent not record. Siegel beat Shelbyville badly last year at Shelbyville in the regional tourney and I ate my crow for that one. I will say this though if anything is posted negatively about Siegel you Siegel posters jump all over people. I was very happy to see Oakland put you back in to reality if only for one day. Anyone can beat anyone between Siegel, Oakland, Shelbyville, and Columbia on any given night. The year before, Oakland was first place and finished second in the district tourney and the year Oden,Ramsey and company were seniors the district tourney made things differently because you guys matched up with Oakland in the semi finals. I know Siegel has a great basketball program. No other team in the state that started out as a new school has been to the state tourney this many times in less than 10 years of existence. Until Siegel is beat again none of the talk will stop but I am telling you if you think Shelbyville will be a cake walk in the regional tourney this year you might want to rethink that. It is opinion that Kevin Thomas and Randy King are the best coaches in region 4AAA but if you put biased aside and have basketball knowledge you would probably agree. Either way I will just agree to disagree with you because if I post anything negative or not praising Siegel you will have a negative look on it and consider it always a dumb post.

Last year Siegel was the best team in the district but finished second in the district tourney. Just like the year before Oakland was the best team but finished second in the District Tourney. 2. Shelbyville and Oakland have the two best coaches in region 4AAA. 3. Shelbyville lost to Siegel by three during the Christmas break. The opinion I made was that I would like to see an Oakland - Shelbyville final. If that makes my post dumb so be it. Well if things dont get messed up in your district tourney with the best team in the district placing second like they have the past few years You will either see Shelbyville or Oakland in the finals. Twilley is a senior, Andrews is a junior, and I beleive Jarrell is a sophmore. I think Emmanuel is going to end up at a big time school.

I am fine with the two meeting up in the regional championship. I got alot of respect for Oaklands program and would love to see both teams go to state. I know that is a long way from now but it cant hurt to hope for that matchup.

Sounds to me that Cascade outscored Eagleville in both of their games to beat them. I do not think Eagleville gave them any gifts, but if you think that is the case i would say Cascade gave Unionville two gifts as well. Good luck to all teams in the district tourney and congrats Champs on winning the district regular season title.

This one should be a great game as usual. I will go with Shelbyville by 6.

Congrats to Oakland on their huge victory last night. It is always nice when Siegel gets knocked back to reality. The regional tourney is going to be great this year.

Well obviously reading comprehension is not your strong suit lol. If you would read my post I said the officiating was bad for both teams but especially for Lincoln County. Lawrence Co deserved the win, they outscored Lincoln County and also Lincoln County missed their free throws bottom line. Look for Lincoln County to give them all they want in the district and regional tourney though. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Coach Spencer is doing a great job with the girls. I know the guy who coached the prior to Coach Ferrell pretty well. He has not coached since he moved to Florida in 96'. Coach Ferrell from what I have heard is still teaching at Cascade but resigned a couple of years ago from coaching. I am glad to see the girls responding to Coach Spencer and buying into his style of play. If they can get the junior pro and junior high teams to that next level Cascade girls could turn into a powerhouse as well in girls basketball down the road. I dont know Coach Wigington but I know Coach Davis helped with the state championship team Forrest had and he coached at Cascade for the boys team for a year when I was in Junior High at Cascade.

The Law Co/ Shelbyville game should be a great one as it has been in the past few years. I am interested to see how this district fares against 7AAA. I think three teams could make it past the first round of regions if Lincoln County continues to improve and shoot like they have lately.
