  1. This happens to be a basketball thread, but if you want to bring up football we can talk about domination- 3 out of 4 years state champions. We can also play a little basketball. That basketball state championship would look nice next to those football championships. The Falcons are coming to town and they know how be champions. Maybe you boys could learn something from them!
  2. He's not arrogant. He's just stating the truth. Seriously, the fans at Liberty are great. The school officials are great. They are very proud of their team and they will be even prouder when they make it two in a row. Last time though as they move to AAA next year. Stating that you are going to be a team by 40 sounds a little arrogant. Granted I believe that Liberty deserves all of the attention that they are getting. I don't know much, if anything about the program. From what I have seen from the fans that have posted here I must say that there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. And oh how I would to see the the arrogant fall flat on thier faces in Murfressboro. It would be a shame to see all of those great games against quality national programs mean a hill of beans if liberty lost in murfressboro. After reading the pompus posts of Liberty fans, my two favorite teams in Murfressboro are Fulton and whoever is playing Liberty.
  3. All that smack talk just might come back to bite you. If Fulton does the unthinkable and beat God's gift to basketball, you will be able to count on me to remind you of your arrogance!
  4. It's funny that you say that Fulton has no chance when the signature on the bottom of your page says any team can win on a given night. Granted, Liberty has to be the clear cut favorite to not only win this game, but the championship as well, but Fulton deserves to be where they are and will not roll over no matter who they play.
  5. In my opinion I think Liberty is the obvious favorite and should advance to the final. Please keep overlooking the Futlon Falcons. They are going to be huge underdogs going into the opening round, but this is March and anything can happen. They have some athletes on this team. After all, they have won 3 out of the last 4 football state championships. These kids know how to find a way to win.
  6. The more I have seen him post, the more I realize Waco is just that way. He isn't going to be happy unless DB wins every state title. Even then, I am sure he will find the error in the coaching whoever that may be. I have seen high school sports in three different communities in tennessee. No where is the commitment to excellence any more than DB. Kingsport should thank thier lucky stars for the coaches they have.
  7. I'll take the Roadrunners in a blowout.
  8. In my opinion they shot the ball well Tuesday night. Coty was off, but in particular Sylvester and Williamson both were hitting shots Tuesday that wouldn't fall last night. That's the nature of basketball. Some nights those shots don't fall. I'm proud of thier performance. They might not have had thier A game, but I feel they were playing hard. If they couldn't handle the playoffs, they would have lost Tuesday night, but they persevered and I believe will do well on Monday night.
  9. Congrats to the Toppers. They came out with the intensity early and were hitting thier shots. DB played hard, but seemed to be emotionally spent from Tuesday night. The shots that were falling tuesday night just weren't going down. Good luck to both teams Monday night. It would be great to have 2 NET in Murfreesboro.
  10. When two teams are comparatively close, it's hard for a team to win three times straight. So, logic would say that SH is due. Unless they get some productivity from someone other than Wattad, then I see the Tribe sweeping. I must say that if it wasn't SH that DB was playing I'd be a little worried about a letdown. When it's a rival and the right for homecourt advantage in the substate, I expect both teams to have thier A games.
  11. If Billy D comes and mows my yard in the summer I will send my son his way in a few years. By the time he reaches high school he'll probably be 6' 4 or 6'5.
  12. First, Greeneville has had a great year. They have the best player in East Tennessee and will be a good college player. I must say that I am amused after all the smack Greeneville fans have been talking this season about how they were going to win the state tournament and then get on here and make excuses as to why they got beat. They played a great game and deserved to win. Unfortunatley, DB played a great game and not only deserved to win, they did win. It's fun to talk the smack- that's what Coacht is about, but don't make excuses when you have talked the talk. Just swallow the humble pill of defeat.
  13. What a game last night! Both teams played thier hearts out. Wiggins was every bit as good or better as advertised. He can score inside or out, which I agree I couldn't figure out why he wasn't get the ball in the post more. Justin Sylvester plays with the intensity of a senior. It's going to be scary how good he is going to be in two years. He still probably has a growth spurt. Great win DB. Now it's time to beat the Toppers, again.
  14. Derek Trent is the real deal. A left handed hitter who can hit for power and average. He's great on defense as well. I'd take him over anyone.
  15. Does Seymour still play in that cracker box of a baseball field?
  16. You beat a team with 5 wins. You should beat them by 30 points. Carefule rubbing that in b/c you aren't too far removed from a drubbing that Science Hill put on you. You will have either that Science Hill team or DB to advance.
  17. I wasn't aware that he scored 20, but I thought it was more like 13, but I checked and you are right. I wasn't at the game Tuesday night, but I saw the first game b/t DB and SH. Coty was clearly taking Omar out of his game frustrating him. I don't think anyone is going to shut him down, but Coty can make the night difficult for him. If Omar doesn't beat you, no one else on Science Hill is going to beat you.
  18. I look forward to seeing how Wiggins does against Coty Sensabaugh from DB. He has kept Wattad in check the two games they have played. I'm sure he'll be the one to guard Wiggins. Coty is going to be both quicker and stronger. I wonder if he'll frustrate Wiggins the way he did Omar.
  19. When it comes tourney time, those "seven games that they lost" won't matter. All that matters is that they keep winning now. I would rather have a team peaking at district and regional than a team that has dominated all season, but is struggling now, i.e. SH.
  20. Absolutely unbelieveable. By your logic if the team wins it's because of the players and if it loses it's because of the coach. Waco, make up your mind. Is the outcome determined by players or coaches? How about a little bit of both. Why can't you give credit where credit is due?
  21. Cap, I respect you giving DB kudos for beating SH. I fell that they have had to earn everyone's respect after the rocky start, but the team everyone expected to see in November has come together at the right time when it matters most. Congradulations to Coty on the scholarship. I didn't realize that he had been offered, but I will look forward to cheering for the Tigers.
  22. You got it handed to you by one of the four best teams in Region 1, with the other 3 just as goos as this one. My suggestion is eat your humble pie and get alot better by the time regional comes around or it's one and done.
  23. I have watched most of DB's games over the last 4 years. I agree with Waco, I have seen 3-4 teams each year that are much better than SHHS. I'm not sure how much the new goof ball will help.
  24. I usually give coaches the benefit of the doubt, but I have seen the things he has said on the Science Hill thread and on the Indy thread. Bottom line: classless jerk! It will be even more joyful to watch teams beat up on Science Hill again this year. It starts with South. Go Rebs!
