I agree, it won't be very close at all. In fact, its going to be so cold anyway, lets just not play the game. Let's get everyone that spouts off garbage on coacht to meet in the gym at 7:00 and argue about who would have won.

The last time I shopped around for football equipment, it wasn't free. Good coaches like to be compensated as well. Shame on Greeneville for hiring a proven coaching staff and desiring a state-of-the-art facility. Probably should just let the kids coach themselves and go back to grass and even let the weeds grow up the fences. That would look nice. "Buying a state championship" ??? That's absolutely ridiculous. State championships are not bought, but it does take an investment to earn one. Ask anybody that has a ring. I may be wrong, but the way I see it, the Greeneville fans may be a little disappointed in the new region assignment, but its the fans of the teams Greeneville will be playing that are just plain po'd. Have you stopped once to think about the probability that Greeneville will make this conference overall stronger? If I was an opposing coach, I would invite the opportunity to suit up against them. You should calm down and try to relax more.

A question to all those that oppose Greeneville's so called move down: What in history proves that Greeneville deserves to be in a higher class? How many championships have we won? What is it about moving down that bothers everyone? Is it just pride and arrogance? I've got news for everyone. Greene County and Greeneville are suffering fiscally as a community. Jobs are leaving and none are coming in. Population is not growing, revenue is tanking and yet there are those that believe we are something special. In an earlier post, some highly respected men and great coaches were mentioned as not putting so much emphasis on winning. That was a good post, however here's the deal: Coaches are graded in today's world by one thing...wins vs. losses, that's just a cold, hard fact. Why not put ourselves in a better position to win championships? That might be one of the key ingredients to keeping people interested in this community. Let's also remember, GHS moving down a class in football is no guarantee of any state championships. We still have to go through Knoxville to get to the Boro and there will be some very good middle and west tennessee teams trying to get there also.

I'm very proud of you for sticking with him Charlie. If you need to go to Knoxville, yes, Jordan will drop what he's doing and go with you...as long as there is beer in the car and you stop on the way to break someone's jaw or knock their teeth out. You stay with him, son, and maybe the two of you can share a cell if you live. By the way, it IS a flaw in character, not just bad decision making skills. When you make bad decisions over and over and over and over, it becomes your character. I full well know what he's been through the past few years. Many humans have suffered as much and more adversity in their lives and they have risen above it. No more excuses and feeling sorry for him.

Its time to move on without Greenway. He should have been expelled from the Greeneville School System before now. There have been so many instances the public doesn't even know about. Well, I think I've read every post in this thread so far, albeit not every one in its entirety. Thus far, I haven't seen more than 3 or 4 that are even worth reading. Obviously, you know I'm pulling for Greeneville, however, I will be satisfied with a hard fought, thrilling game no matter the outcome as long as it finishes injury free and everyone traveling to and from Death Valley do so safely. I think we should all take this entire week and reflect on all we have to be thankful for and pray for the future leadership of this nation, not just football. This is just a game...a very small, insignificant scene in the big picture. God bless both South and Greeneville. There are some fine young men being produced at both schools and I'm thankful for that.

Well, if you don't see it, why don't you stop acting like you know so much about football. If the offense puts together sustained drives, does that not take the ball out of the other offense's hands? What a revelation! ("Greeneville better find a way to score") Did you think this up all by yourself? I think what the poster is saying is keeping South's offense off the field will enable Greeneville's offense the opportunities to score. Uh, and just what makes you think the Greeneville defense will be picked apart? Nobody has done it yet? I'm not going to predict anything, but I see this game as a fight to the end.

I'll try to answer these questions for you. 1. I don't think the mystery is so much what has happened as what needs to happen. GVille is a program spiraling downward out of control. 2. Next year does'nt look any better. Yes, they are young, loaded with enough talent to win 6-8 games. But, that means nothing unless someone in charge can take that talent and funnel it in the right direction and mold it into congruency. That's not happening and not going to happen under the current leadership. There is no positive reinforcement, no self-esteem building, no character building and no promotion of espris de corps between players and coaches. Why do you think there are 10-20 boys in the bleachers who should be on the field? Greeneville never dressed more than 38 kids at any game all year. I know of class 3A, 2A, and even Div. 2 schools that field twice that many. So, who is responsible for all this? I think we all know the answer. If only this issue was on next Tuesday's ballot. 3. Maybe they should play in class, maybe not. It does'nt make a difference the way the program is headed. Peace, Out...

Hey Goochtor and Zesus, I just wanted to let you know there is a wide variety of medications available for your problems. I'm not a big advocate of loosely over-prescribing such to adolescents under the age of 12, but in your cases it may be the only hope. Its obvious there is a shortage of belts and willow branches at your home. We will let you know how the game comes out. The game will be over between 9:30 and 10:00 if your parents will let you stay up Friday night to check the scores?

I hope you can sustain some momentum going into this week's game and continue the remainder of the season. There are a lot of folks around town pulling against you and that's a shame. I had to go to work today and listen to several of the naysayers make excuses about how you won Friday night over Betsy. In fact, they are making excuses about all of your wins. Quite frankly, it makes me sick at my stomach. Dig down deep in your hearts and go show 'em. And, to the negative, feeble minded naysayers (you know who you are): Why don't you find something positive to fulfill your life with. Would it hurt so bad to be encouraging to a group of young men who are giving their hearts and guts everyday to a noble cause? Yes, a noble cause. Because this is not about football. Its about learning lessons in real life in a real world and about learning to become a man. I'm not sure what's behind the movement to discredit this football team. Maybe your parents abused you or something. But, please find something positive to hope for in your life. You know the funny thing is the negative comments for the most part are coming from those who have no current ties to the program at all. Maybe you wish you did. Oh well, enough of my venting.
