  3. My understanding is that Coaches that belong to the THSSCA were asked to nominate Senior players from their school or areas and then a roster was put together based on that. There are many outstanding Seniors that have already starting practicing with their Travel teams, etc. that probably could not make it. I know my daughter has been practicing for a week for the Texas tournament the first week of Dec. She will be attending this game but after practicing that morning with her travel team. I applaud them for starting a game like this. It should get better over the next couple of years.
  4. Soddy is actually 2-1 at Riverdale in the last 3 years having lost to the Lady Warriors at Riverdale in the regular season the year they beat them at Riverdale in the Sectional to go to State. You are correct. Memory is coming back to me. (all good games)
  5. Another Tidbit about SD vs. Riverdale Over the last 3+ years: Riverdale is 3-0 at Soddy (2 Sectional Wins and 1 Regular Season Game) Soddy is 2-0 at Riverdale (1 Sectional Wins and 1 Regular Season Game)
  6. Agree with most everything you posted with eception of the no-PK call. Have to believe that Siegel would have gotten the call if the roles were reversed. The official (middle) made every call similar to that one for the rest of the game. Bad calls both ways, sloppy field. Again, not here to argue (game is over) and you can tell by my # of posts throughout the years that I enjoy reading rather than posting. Good luck to both teams in the tournament.
  7. Since this is the last year of my daughters' high school career, I would like to say that we (entire family) have enjoyed the Siegel matchup and games every year. (We have played 9 times in those 3 years) and have witnessed some fierce and very competitive games. 90% of the games have been won by 1 or 2 goals. I am hoping for a good game with NO INJURIES especially on a wet, muddy field. Riverdale vs. Siegel (Through the years) 2006 Season Game: Siegel District Championship: Siegel Region Championship: Siegel 2007 Season Game: Riverdale District Championship: Riverdale Region Championship: Riverdale (2 OT) 2008 Season Game: Siegel District Championship: Riverdale Region Championship Siegel (OT)
  8. Riverdale is a "walking wounded" team right now and will take more lumps until we get some of our starters back so don't be suprised with some of the scores over the next couple of weeks. Earyl tough scrimmages and games with BGA, Shelbyville, Hendersonville, Soddy, Ravenwood, Franklin and Baylor helped take its' toll on a team with very little depth. Not taking anything away from Oakland as they played a solid game and it was a good confidence game for them to win. Hopefully, Riverdale will be back to full speed by District Tourney time.

It could happen but I think you have a better chance of winning the Powerball.

I will say that siegel and Riverdale will come out of the Region as long as Riverdale stays healthy. They cannot afford to lose anyone.
  12. After a tough loss to Sting on Friday, BWSC 93' Girls beat Mississippi 2-0 today. A win or tie tomorrow against LA would put them back in the Quarterfinals for the 3rd straight year. However, they will have their work cut out for them as they will play the Defending National Champions Longhorns who have shown no weakness so far in the games played.
  13. Friday Night Result: Dallas Sting 1 BWSC 93' 0 Sting scores in the last 2 minutes to win. BWSC played very well but couldn't finish.
  14. Region III starts Friday in Dallas. Looking at the Girls' U16 schedule, BWSC 93' starts off with the 2007 National Champions (Dallas Sting). If they can beat Mississippi and LA, they would probably play the 2008 National Champions (Dallas Texans)........Good experience for them..What other tournament can you possibly play the last 2 National Champs (One way to look at it)...Good Luck BWSC 93'!
  15. I spoke with Coach Arman this afternoon. He also coaches the boys and will remain the coach of the boys. (His older son was a freshman on the team this year). He also has a 3 year old and wants to spend time with his family. He has coached the girls for 11 years and basically has no free time when coaching both programs. For those that know him, know that he puts "everything" into his teams and that amounts to a considerable amount of time, energy, etc. He just finished a successful boys season and is exhausted. We wish him well as he has been able to take the girls' team alot further than most would have estimated before the start of the seasons.
  16. Just my opinion: U14-Brentwood Premier (formerly Apex) U15-Brentwood Premier (formerly Power-have not played well at recent state tournaments but have a much stronger team and coach) U-16-Brentwood Premier (formerly Adidas Elite-going for 4 in a row) U-17-Anybodys' guess U-18 SRFC 91 Strikers (going for 8 in a row) These teams all have the ability to win the their tournament but will have to play it on the field or their could be upsets.
  17. The best (2) teams in the U-16 division are not playing in State League. They are playing in the Premier League and will be the #1 and #2 seeds in the State Tournament. They are 93' Brentwood Premier (formerly Adidas Elite) and FC Alliance (Formely Velocity). Brentwood is the 3 time State Champions and Alliance has been the runner up the last 3 years. I believe that the Brentwood team just won the Premier League this past weekend.
  18. mjuhb: I agree with hannah mcgowen on your top freshman list. I have seen some of the riverdale games this year and she has been a workhorse in the games I have seen and shows good leadership. I believe she has over 25 goals this year from the MF position and looks like she is a good compliment to their striker. Riverdale doesn't seem to have near the overall talent as the premier teams left in the state but they have had a tremendous run this year. congrats to riverdale and coach arman on a great year win or lose this week.
  19. Riverdale 1 Tullahoma 0 4 minutes left
  20. Hannah McGowen of Riverdale should be considered. Year: 9 Pos: MF YTD Stats: 14 Goals/20 Assists Club Team: 93' Brentwood Addias Elite
