  1. the post is deleted, but not for you. who are you? it looks like we know each other - you could use a little slap. I also invite you to put up your picture and name - humor me
  2. Hey Gang....heads up, the DL is about to drop some huge info on you! The DL's back from reporting all over the world and is glad to get back to east TN football. Seasons Greetings, The DL has the DL (and that's down low my friends /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> )_
  3. agreed comrads, the other thread got filled with bologni. Here, we can concentrate on the upcoming events at hand. First off, I congrats to both teams (MHS vs. Maplewood) for making it this far. It is an honor. And nobody is safe ever during a game...that is why they are played. If the coaches or players at MHS begin to believe in their own hype, they will fall. However, I strongly doubt this will happen. But we do know when many of their own fans predicted that they would lose to Red Bank....we saw what it did to the players. Could the reverse hype have the same effect, which would result in MHS losing? Just a thought. Secondly, I found some interesting facts about coach Quarles. After a co-worker of mine interviewed him for the State Championship Special, the man behind 59 straight victories proves to have some interesting techniques to staying grounded. Coach Quarles said that Yoga and Pilates (after hours) really helps clear his mind. He said, "The pilates keeps my abs in check while the yoga allows me to become one with my thoughts and my body. I didn't expect I'd say that, but for the last several years, it's really helped me." When Quarles was asked about the yoga giving him some kind of ESP for football as a joke, Quarles snickered and said that although "it's a silly idea, but I do feel as if I can see the field better and predict what the defense will do during most Friday nights." p.s. You can read this article and more which will be on sale in Murfeesboro at the games! Travel safe all The DL

  5. Ya know Papa, that's about the smartest thing you've said all day. Cool stats. The DL
  6. Thank you Matback, it's good when someone finally understands. DL
  7. Okay ladies and gents....the DL has a message to the posters on this message board....unless you can raise your comments to the DL's level, please do not post. It's tough being very successful and knowledgable sometimes, but the DL gets labeled as 'that smart kid, teacher's pet' from class. Yes, the DL is an over-achiever, no doubt about it. Do many people have the DL's knowledge? No. Please use me as a resource rather than hate the top dog so to speak. I hate to be so blunt, but that's the DL my friends. /motorbike.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":motorbike:" border="0" alt="motorbike.gif" /> The DL has the DL (and that's Down Low my friends)!!!!!!! /motorbike.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":motorbike:" border="0" alt="motorbike.gif" />
  8. Judging by your typing and thought process, I'd say you're mid fifties?! The DL loves old thought. Perhaps you would like to go to a game with the DL......I could really commentate what's going on to those who don't understand much beyond guys.....make pads go hit. Just joking, but seriously, I might feature an article about an older gentleman learning the basics of football. /motorbike.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":motorbike:" border="0" alt="motorbike.gif" />
  9. The DL is just trying to help you. There are a lot of really educated people on here, and he justs wants to let you in on a little bit of football. I give props to anyone who wants to learn about football, young or old. The game is an art. Keep at it. A good suggestion is to mabye even go to a few games on Fri. night. Best DL
  10. Agreed....The DL appreciates the older folks to try to contribute. Good job Sir. You are doing good. However, your numbers are flawed and you really don't know much about sports do you? Its okay. The DL will help steer you in the right direction.
  11. Exactly, Papa Chaos knows numbers, but not life. Goog Thought Coach. And Papa, no disrespect, your outdated and old, but you're trying. And that's all you really can do.
  12. Hey Papa, interesting thought, but your age is definitely showing old man. You know math well. The DL has this game matched up very closely, however, the rebs should pull this off due to 'history'. It sounds like you've been around a while so check the history books. The past predicts the future. Not a bad analysis, but very green. Good luck, you'll get em next time. AND THAT'S THE DL (THAT MEANS DOWN LOW MY FRIENDS) /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> /motorbike.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":motorbike:" border="0" alt="motorbike.gif" />
  13. One fan just called the DL's station. She does not use the internet, but wanted me to post this. She says "Last year when we predicted WB would be state bound, people on this message board laughed and mocked us. This year, WE WILL WIN STATE! Them boys have a special protection from God." Wow, thank you Doris. Thanks a pretty strong feeling. We know many teams here in the southeast are religious so best of luck to those who believe...and don't.
  14. Now this is where we need to Gov Regulars to step in and up to the plate. The DL expects you will do so. Because its not all about predictions on this forum....show a little love! Plus, the DL will feature a few quotes for his 2nd round Special article.
  15. Okay ladies and gents, boys and demons, children of all ages, we did this thank you thread last year and many of you opened your hearts to this coaching staff who gives everything to this team. As the Govs continue of bestow the fans of Blount County with the treasure of going into battle gloriously on the evening of Friday the 15th, the DL wants to the fans to throw out their support of this staff. The DL had a chance to interview some William Blount fans and here are a few snippets.... "Coach Meadows saved my boys life. He was getting into drugs and cheerleading and Coach asked him to come and play football and here we are now. Scholarship talk? That's too early but Coach will do his best, we know that." "My boy is a freshman at William Blount, and Coach Garner and Whitehead helped my son see himself positively. He really likes football now. Thanks again lads, God Bless and seasons greetings." "I don't say many good things about people, but these coaches done a good job, them boys is having a good ole time out there and my daughter and I are now back together as a family from watching the govs play on fridays." Well fans, now it your turn. *note there is a possibility your quote could show up in the DL's Round three special. The DL has the DL (and that's down low my friends /motorbike.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":motorbike:" border="0" alt="motorbike.gif" /> !!!!
  16. Hey old man, the DL sees that you are back making predictions. Interesting thoughts, but like yourself (no offense), they are out of date. Pass the computer back to your son. The DL has the DL (and that's down low my friends) /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  17. Here's the sitch (situation) from the DL, that's right he's back. Rhea County plays on emotion. Maryville has put Rhea County out year after year. So the head Coach there has told local 'sources' that he plans to take Maryville where they haven't been taken before. He believes that Maryville plays 'without' emotion if you will. Stonecold through the high's and low's. He believes if they can win the 'mental' battle vs the Rebs, they will win. One fan says, "Coach has been very secretive and the players know their strengths and they are set on building on those." From the DL's perspective, this is a good move. Getting into a jock strap match with Coach Quarles is not a good idea. You know he will win the X's and O's battle, so instead Rhea County will crank up their fight of an 'emotional' battle.' Fire vs Ice. Good? Who knows? But the DL believes Rhea County needs to try something new, and they can't do something new when they are in the past. Best of luck to both teams on the gridiron, and as always the DL will be on the sideline handling the reporting side of things.
