  1. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Who started that anyway?
  2. Gosh, you all never let anything go. People quit talking about this like 4 or 5 pages ago. And nobody cared anymore, but now every DB fan this side of the Mississippi brings it back up, and all I get to hear about on the South thread is Chris. I don't care about Chris!(no disrespect, I still wish him luck) I don't care if he was held back or not! If I'm on the South thread I want to talk about South, not Chris. Ok? The conversation about him is over. So how about we keep it that way? Or should I just start talking about all of South's players on the DB thread(s)? /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  3. Even if he did do it, or whatever, don't even know the guy. Kids are going to make mistakes, it's part of being a teenager, and I'm sure you've had your share of mistakes that you wouldn't want others gossipping about over the internet for the world to know. Treat other people like you'd want to be treated. Make the freakin' world a better place.
  4. And even if it is the truth, you shouldn't be spouting that off in public. You can just say that there's reasons, you don't have to go off and tell the world. Give the kid some privacy!
  5. In other news... That discussion ended a while ago. So how about we not bring it up and have it continue if you don't like it so much? Anyway, still no word on Cassell? And how's the passing game shaping up now?
  6. Well, you know how those city doctors are...lol. Hopefully it's just a twitch of some sort. I'd like to get to see him play some this year, he seems like a nice kid. Plus, injuries are never fun. /wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /> And WaCo, give the others a break, let them sleep in while they can, because I would be too if I could! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> p.s. If you want me to fix your English while we are at it, it's "who would have"...not "who'd a". /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> The grammar ninja is now going to sleep. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
  7. It's "Knights", not "Nights". Mr. City-Boy. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Don't go insulting Monty Python by not correctly spelling one of its beloved characters. I'm glad to hear Jordan is doing better, best of luck to the team this year. Show everyone we aren't just the one-man army guys!
  8. You don't have to be a genius to play a sport...You only have to have like a 2.0 or something like that....which is like C-average. Beyond easy in almost all high school level classes. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> And what people are trying to say is that an extra year/two years(depending on who's view you're using), makes a big difference. Example being, anyone who ever saw middle school football at Sullivan back in about 2001-2003ish, they had some fellas in the same situation as CS, and I'll be shocked if someone said that extra year didn't make a difference, these guys ran all over the people they played with(especially considering how big they were in comparison), then I believe eventually dropped out of high school(or at least I'm pretty sure). But if they had stuck with it, they had the talent, and they would have been in the same situation as CS, and we wouldn't be having this argument. But they didn't, thus we roll on with the pointless DB-South arguments that go on every year. Can't we just give it a break, we left your thread alone, you leave ours alone. I don't like coming to a South thread and only reading about CS. Thanks and have a nice day.=P
  9. O'Quinn(*cough*Medicine Woman*cough*) has the tools to be one of the best d-lineman out there, he just has to get in the zone and stay focused. The kid puts in a ton of extra effort and definitely has the heart for the game, you could see him after the regular conditioning out there running/bear-crawling up the hills on Death Valley and usually spending a some extra time in the weight room. The kid is dedicated. And nobody's gonna see him coming. By the way, is he still the "defensive specialist" or is he playing some OL now, too?
  10. Like that would ever happen...although it does make those counter plays real nice...of course, people won't focus as much @ Brad as they would @ Curt, so who knows who'd end up with the ball on one of those double-fake hand-off counter runs...Is it Fletch, Booby, or Davenport?!?/roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> idk really, but I'm ready to watch some football this year. Didn't we run some 2-back like 2 years ago? I really can't remember, lol. Keeping up with too much baseball.
  11. Well...all I can say is it's probably going to be Curt Phillips vs. 7 all night long. Hopefully 7...I hope we can occupy at least 4 defenders...
  12. If it doesn't rain...I say South all the way. If it does...it's going to be close. rain=>bad South offense overall
  13. So...is it true that one of the players punched Curt and gave him a bruised ######? Or did someone have too much fun making that up? /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> Gosh, Perkins...I should have asked him, he was sitting behind me. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> Anyway... I think South doesn't just run its mouth...it runs Curt Phillips and Taylor Fletcher too. haha. Of course...we pass a little bit too. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  14. Next year people definitely won't know what to do...lol. No Curt to focus on... But we'll have Jeffers, Fletcher, Kitz, etc. etc.... I can't wait for next year...I might even pad up myself, lol. Doubt it tho. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Anyway. gj tonight boys, see ya Monday.
  15. 41-21 South. 41 unanswered...lol Fletcher was a beast tonight. He ran like he did his freshman year
  16. Three words: Church League Softball Oh yeah....
  17. I was impressed tonight with the play of our boys. On the other hand, I was not impressed with our student body. I'm sorry for anyone who happened to walk by and get booed....and that one guy who got a bottle in the head...(although he deserved it...) Anyway, good play tonight guys. We're a force to be reckoned with, and maybe everyone will finally believe us for this year. Who's next anyway, I haven't got a schedule for this year yet.
  18. Well, depending on how they throw, some people can throw a decent curve without any different motion than a fastball, you just have to adjust the grip; I know some people that still do that with theirs.

    HITTING

All I can say is if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Most people naturally develop their own swing. Of course, if it isn't working, let them experiment until they find something comfortable...that works. I personally prefer a bit more old school back elbow up, bat on a 45, step with a shift of your weight from back to front(this requires some timing) But apparently, that's "obsolete" now. Worked for me back in the days though.
  20. Wow, this is pretty sad! The field I played on in Middle School(and a bit of Elementary!) was 298 down the lines and a bit over 300 in center... And we jacked 'em out quite often...team had at least 15 HR's there.
  21. Yup. Of course, depending on arm angle, you can get nasty curveball without even moving the wrist(sidearmers especially).
  22. There's the good and bad as most people have said already to letting you throw more pitches. I personally believe that how many pitches you can throw just depends on you and you alone. Some people can only throw so many pitches and then get sore/tired, while others can just keep going, and going, and going...I've seen some middle schoolers that go 100+ one day, and turn around and throw a day or two later and throw another full game. Actually, I was one of those, lol. My arm hardly ever got sore, because I always tried to work it evenly, made sure to run after the game, and made sure to stretch and get completely loose before the game(which many people I've seen nowadays don't do, they just throw a couple of pitches getting warmed up). But as said earlier, look at some of those Japanese guys, they throw 200+ every now and then, finish up. And half the time they don't even try to ice their arms afterward or anything. It's just really dependent on who's throwing and just how much they, themself, can handle.
  23. yeah, South does that a lot too, but a lot of the pitchers play other positions, so they get to hit. I'm glad someone still knows what teamwork is! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  24. wait a second. So where are the games at? You all said Viking Hall. Which is also what my friend says. But the schedule on here says it's @ DB. Can I get some confirmation? I'm taking my cousin to the game. And the dunk contest. And I'd hate to go to the wrong place for a game. For the fifth time.
  25. He does do as he pleases, that's for sure. He's just hanging out w/ the wrong crowd on occasions Just like he did in earlier years of middle school. And yes, a tank and a bulldozer never hurt to have on your football team. He does require a special person to get to him. And I'm pretty sure I know a couple of people that can get to him. I think I'm going to be making me a trip back over to the middle school sometime soon...
