  1. In response to who is going to win the Three Rivers Conference-- Unicoi County. If for no other reason than for over 4 years now, no one has given them a chance to repeat their success from the previous season. I've heard "well now that ________ is gone, they'll be lucky to finish in the top half of the conference" so many times it's laughable. And until someone steps up and takes it from them, I won't waste my time believing otherwise. East is dangerous. North is young but talented. Etown has the athletes. Johnson County is gritty and well-coached. Valley is BaylessBall-- never counted out. This should shape up to an exciting year, top to bottom. Go Blue!!
  2. Absolutely none taken there, Coach QB. I was just there so I figured I'd throw out the info. Some notes from an outsider (take 'em for what they're worth): The QB was impressively accurate and elusive in the pocket. The LBs were very quick and explosive-- enough to make up for a perceived lack of size. The F/S #10 is a knockout hit waiting to happen on every play run or pass. Only concern I'd have would be pass protection based on the UC scrimmage. Has Tallman been offered anywhere yet? Are any SEC schools showing interest in the Viking backfield? Best of luck and stay healthy through the jamboree!
  3. The total score was Tennessee High 2 scores to Unicoi 0. The weather forced the impromptu switch of venues. Both teams seemed to be working on specific aspects of their offenses and defenses. It was competitive and good spirited. I hope Unicoi can keep this scrimmage as they continue to improve. Best of luck Vikings!
  4. Who are the Rebels and Black Knights scrimmaging this summer? I'd love to get a preview of the new conference foes if the games are close enough and during my downtime. Any help appreciate!
  5. Who are these Greene County teams scrimmaging this summer-- Greeneville, South Greene, West Greene, Chuckey Doak? I want to see some pad popping firsthand!
  6. Unicoi threw the ball pretty well on a lot of teams last year, but there were WR's running way too free for a top notch program like Tennessee High. My two cents after watching the Vikings for years is that they rely too much on the front four getting pressure and hardly blitz against multiple receiver sets. I can't argue with their success, but the best way to take pressure off the back of a suspect secondary is to put the QB on his back before the coverage breaks. Good luck, Vikes!
  7. You can't play the role of the underdog if you're calling a state title run, Clone. You also can't play the role of the underdog if everyone in the conference knows you have serious weapons. Then again, you had that same firepower last year. It should be a great, and I mean GREAT, year for football in upper East Tennessee. Keep us posted on how spring practice goes as it fires up please 'Clonefan'! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  8. Did Spring Practice open up today for the Bulldogs, Pujo? If so, what was the rundown-- I know you wouldn't miss it! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  9. It seems as though he would be ideal for discuss honestly. Has he ever given that a shot? Low center gravity... Acceleration burst... Cooridination and Power... it adds up pretty nicely. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  10. I hope the Vikings wait to see the status of their premiere TB before they shift the back-up talent out of the backfield and into the receiving core
  11. I do love a team that believes in pounding the snot out of anyone attempting to line up infront of them. My apologies, Pujo, what's done is done and I'm sure it's over with now. I just like to keep up with the 'Dogs across our county fence. On that note- what's the latest on the coaching situation?
  12. So what happened? And who are the potential basketball players that might come out for football?
  13. Unless you are priviledged to know the workout habits of everyone in your district, I'd be careful with such statements. I don't think you want to strap that giant Bullseye on your back just yet.
  14. Quick question Fulton faithful-- how do you think Unicoi County would have faired at the state tourney this year?
