  1. SC on offensive runs a ton of different formations. they'll go gun, power I, unbalanced, 1 wide out, 2 wide outs, 3, 4, and sometimes even 5. Majority of yards through out the season have come from the run, but lately the passing game has come on strong Offensively... Junior Shawn Hodge and sophomore Tyler Thomas are both dangerous at running back (usually rotate every series). Fullback Blake Wallace gets more carries then the usual fullback, and he makes the most of it. Very hard runner. Starting wide outs are James Feezel and Trey Pippin. Both are very fast, Pippin probably being the quickest. Feezel is about 6'3" and has great jumping ablility. Hard to cover. Austin Williams and Ryan Stott give them breaks. When the bears go 4 wide, receivers are usually James Feezel, Pippin, Daniel Cotter/Andrew Feezel, Austin Williams/Ryan Stott. Corey Watson is the QB, and the playmaker for the Bears. Very quick, great scrambler. I believe he has 995 yds 9 TDs passing and 495 8 TDs rushing (before the McMinn game). Has ability to find the open receiver. Defensively... SC goes with 3 down lineman, 5 LBs, and 3 DBs. Several Players rotate on the D-line, and SC will also bring in an extra lineman in at times. Pretty solid play at LB. The defensive stand-out is LB Cory Baxter. Big hitter. Plays with alot of heart. The veteran secondary is solid. Hard to beat the corners one on one ImaOWL, how bout some info on the Owls offensive and defensive? And what was the final in the McMinn Co/Ooltewah game? just curious
  2. where did realmenwearkilts go? lol. cant blame him. i probably wouldnt get on either if i said stuff like "we can compete with alcoa" or "10-0 and more to go." everyone tried to tell you...good luck in basketball season
  3. DB went undefeated but lost in first round... Even though the owls are 11-0, u cant count sevier co out of this one. it'll be a real good game
  4. Bears come out slow in a lot of games, come out a lot harder second half. thats gotta stop if the bears want to advance deep into the playoffs. they' ve gotta come out firing on all cylinders like they did against bearden (35-0 at halftime). but the bears play big in big games. plus they have QB Corey Watson. the newspaper this morning says this about Watson: --- Passing: 995 yds. 9 TDs --- Rushing: 445 yds. 8 TDs. On defensive he has a couple picks and also has a couple punt returns for TDs. Mcminn will try to shut down watson, but i doubt they'll be able to Sevier Co.- 28 McMinn- 21 Should be a great game
  5. best LBs in the county?? best QB in the state?? surely u cant be serious...
  6. I agree. when SC played at home last year in the playoffs, there was a great turnout. its hard to beat the bears at home. the're undefeated at home this year. only lost one at home last year (to DB by 3. pouring rain). this is gonna be a good one. does anyone know how mcminn plays on the road?
  7. Should be A LOT of people there...Sevier Co usually has a very nice turnout week in and week out. when the bears went to DB, the visitor side was packed, and people were having to stand along the fence. A couple weeks back when SC played jeff co at jeff co, SC probably had more fans (even though it was senior night at jeff). But SC has a very decent size visitor section. Should be a great atmosphere. might want to bring a coat though...
  8. I couldn't have said it better. We all forget that these are high school boys. When 2 schools in one county talk about sports, there is always competition. There isnt one team on earth who would let someone from another team trash-talk. All of this is getting old. Everyone needs to remember what it was like in high school, and remember that boys will be boys, regardless of what school. Great post it'sallovernow. Couldn't agree with you more!
  9. Just to set the record straight, half of the SC students that were at the GP game werent players on the team. And the rumor is that they were "thrown out" which is also false. The GP principal asked the SC students to cheer for GP or move to the Midway side, thats when the students left. SC's principal and A.D. talked to the GP principal today on the phone. The GP principal said that the students were not disrespectful, were not using foul language, and did not give the principal attitude what so ever. They were simply cheering for Midway, which upset some GP students. Fearing it would escalade, the principle asked the SC students (even the ones not cheering for Midway), if they would move to the Midway side, so the students left. They in no way got "thrown" or "kicked out". But rumors become more and more false each time they are told. Just wanted to set the record straight before SC got a bad name
  10. Not to get in the middle of this, but principals of both schools cleared up the matter yesterday. According to the GP principal, the Sevier Co students were not behaving badly, they were just cheering for midway, which upset the GP fans. The principal asked the students to either cheer of GP, or go to the Midway side, and so the students left. Also, about half of the students that went were not even on the football team. The mohawks did violate the dress code, so the students are going to be shaving them off (not that thats really a football issue anyway). When asked why the SC players went to the game in the first place, they said 1). cause they are friends with some people from GP, and 2). one of the GP players/students sent one of the Sevier co players an email that read "If u wanna see a real team play, come up to GP thursday night. We're undefeated, unlike the bears". Sounds like some GP students arent on their best behavior either....Not trying to start anything, just wanted to set the record straight about the GP game But all of this is aside from the topic. This isnt about GP, its about Mcminn and SC
  11. They were very impressive last friday beating Bearden 42-21 (35-0 at halftime). If they play like they did against the bulldogs, Sevier Co will be tough to beat

  14. wow guys... i gotta say i didnt expect to see all of this on here. Its as simple as this: Farragut has performed well, and Oak Ridge hasnt had the type of season that the players or fans had hoped for. Oak Ridge lost there starting quarterback, which obviously hurt the offensive play-calling. Farragut has the edge, but counting OR out would be a dangerous mistake. Oak Ridge still has very good athletes and is still a good football team. If Oak Ridge comes to play, it will be a good game. The worst mistake either team could make would be over-looking the other, just because Farragut has a better record or OR has beatin them how many ever times in a row...the fact is that the team that wants it will get the victory. just depends on who wants it more. Farragut's offensive line should be too much for the cats to handle. OR probably will not be able to stop the run game, and a lot of pressure will lay on the offense. Farragut by 7
  15. Sevier Co seems to play very good in big games (loss to D-B in final seconds; beating Bearden pretty bad 42-21). They just come ready to play when the pressure is on. And being at home is definitely a plus... Sevier Co over McMinn by 10
