  1. Please say you were trying to be funny
  2. Rebelguy, I just know him from following Franklin over the years. Apparently the only reason he left Giles was because he wanted to remain in the Franklin area. He will most definitely at least inquire about the CHS position
  3. Because there are a lot of old school fans on this board, I’ll just ask you where some of these modern players rank. Golden Tate TC Jennings Adam Becker Spencer Gullmire Tyler Maples Lamarcus Coker
  4. Remember that BGA has gone 4-26 since their last championship. And one of those wins was a forfeit. Wasn't Wycheck coaching at BGA a few years ago?
  5. A bit of an understatement. When you knock off the best team in the state and reach the finals one year and then go 5-5 the next year is a little more than a down year.
  6. Just Throwing out some nominees. Troy Fleming Joe Longmire Gaston Miller John Henderson Fred Lane
  7. What single player had the best high school football career in Tennessee?
  8. That won't happen again. The players knew that this year was a transition year in developing their younger players. Kelly has potential to be a dangerous recieving threat and both Scales and Barlar can fit in nicely at the QB position. They have two lightning-fast backs in Coffee and Kemp and a pretty solid special teams unit with Bass and Barlar. We've got the talent, the only reason we've been losing is because the coaches didn't use that the full potential. This team can seriously become a contender within the next 2 years.
  9. Possibly one of the most intriguing matchups of the first round, because they are 2 pretty similar teams. When the teams are evenly matched, it comes down to coaching and intangibles. Therefore, I give the advantage to Brentwood. Brentwood 20 Hunters Lane 14
  10. Again, Shrader probably will have the final say, but it will be Lifsey and Gregory(Still the AD) that does most of the legwork. About Johnson, Centennial has way more potential than BGA. Centennial has a lot better talent and if I know Johnson, he will be attracted more to a program on the rise.
  11. My mistake. That does actually change much, both Dickson Co. and Brentwood will go down, and Franklin will still beat Gallatin. ALthough Gallatin/Dickson Co. will be close
  12. Here we go.. Gallatin over Ravenwood Brentwood over Hunters Lane Dickson Co. over Antioch Franklin over Hendersonville ROUND 2 Gallatin over Brentwood Franklin over Dickson Co. AND THE KICKER... Franklin over Gallatin I even went as far as to having Franklin beating Ridgeway and getting into the state finals. Their a good young team. Sellers seems to need development, but shows flashes of past quarterback like Mikrut or Refegee. They have a steller Defense corps and I think they have the talent needed to make a run this year. However, I do have them losing to Ooltewah in the finals
  13. DB and Ooltewah have a potential matchup in Round 3.
  14. As I do every year, I printed off the playoff bracket yesterday and was absolutely intrigued by the potential matchups that could develop. Basically I have Ooltewah beating Franklin in the state final to win the 5A State Championship. Some suprises in the bracket including a possible matchup of Ooltewah and Riverdale in the state semis and Franklin beating both Gallatin and Ridgeway. Now, I probably caused a stir. So tell me what you think.
  15. Footballfan15, I'm not exactly sure. One of our players just mentioned a guy from Hillsboro. As of now, Coach Gregory has not made any indication that he will leave the school, for now. Also, no one has mentioned any other coaches on the hot seat for Centennial. As for Wingman, I haven't heard anything about hiring a big name as Lifsey hasn't even contacted anyone about the job yet. What you heard was probably only a rumor.
  16. Also, I forgot to mention a guy from Hillsboro has also been mentioned by a few people.
  17. It worked pretty good in the first quarter, we just had some bad breaks.
  18. Right now, it looks like Daniels will go to Page and that Rector will stay put at Ravenwood for now. One of our players mentioned LaVergne's defensive coordinator and a few assistants from Brentwood as serious contenders. Any other names mentioned is just speculation. By the way. I HONESTY DID NOT MEAN COACH LANE WOULD BE AN ACTUAL CANDIDATE. I JUST THOUGHT IT WOULD BE KIND OF COOL HAVING HIM AS A HEAD COACH AGAIN. ALL REASONS MENTIONED ABOVE WHY HE WOULDN'T BE THE HEAD COACH HAVE ALREADY BEEN REALIZED BY ME LONG BEFORE YOU POSTED THEM. SO LET'S MOVE ON FROM THAT.
  19. To clear things up, Centennial was only down by a touchdown through most of the game. Remember that stats don't tell the whole story; Brentwood scores 2 touchdowns in the final 2 minutes after an interception and a turnover on downs, both giving Brentwood drives starting inside the 20. Other than the final 2 minutes it was a close game.
  20. I think someone earlier had mentioned Chad Kirby. That would be a great choice. Just imagine some of our players under his leadership.
  21. Its been about 3 hours since School started and there is definately a buzz here. The students are as pumped as ever and I can't wait to run that flag like crazy at the pep rally! In the past few hours, I've noticed that it is business as usual for the players and for Coach Gregory. However, the focus has definitely changed. I have talked to any of the players individually yet, but it appears business as usual for them too. The question is, what effect will these new events have on this game?
  22. So has anyone heard an update on whether or not Rayburn will play?
  23. I agree that whoever takes over will probably develop the team as if it were a new program. It'll take about 2 or 3 years before we become a power again. The good thing is he's a got a lot of good yound talent to build upon, such as Scales, kelly, and Kemp. Also, 6-7 lineman Ben Mixer could also return to the team. In time, I can honestly see a team that reminds everyone of that 2002-2004 campaign. This being my senior year however, it doesn't matter in the slightest.
  24. If the standings stay the same in 6-5A, then they would play Ravenwood. As of right now, Ravenwood is probably the better team. They're injury free for the first time this year and their offense is finally clicking. I'm going with the first round upset here
  25. P.S. This probably wont happen, but for all you Freedom Middle alums, what do you think of Fred Lane Sr. as a possible candidate?
