  1. "No where near the top?" Houston beat Bartlett (state champ) and split with Christian Bros. (state champ) during the regular season and made it to state semis only to lose against South Doyle in a win-or-go-home game for either team. I think those three were pretty near the top last season. But, hey, who's counting, right?
  2. Let me correct one thing. I actually played for Houston last year and pitched the game against Bartlett. We won that game 10-5. They never beat us. But you're right, they did beat some really good teams, and I think all but 1 or 2 of their starters are returning, so they'll be really good. An after thought...Bartlett has played CBHS before and the games are usually pretty close. I think it'll be close contention among Bartlett, CBHS, and Houston. In AAA, Collierville and Germantown can definitely hold their own, too.
  3. Whitehaven was playing for a lot out there and Houston knew they were in the playoffs. As it was WHS's senior night and potential last game, they played with deep conviction. Now, Houston may have had a bad game (I know, I play for them), but you're counting them out so quickly?
  4. I was just speculating on how a #1 seeded DII team can win two games (bye) and win it all. On the contrary, all teams in 5A (and 4,3,2,1A), regardless of what seed, MUST win 5 to take home the trophy. Anybody willing to expand on this? Just thought it was kinda humorous.
  5. As Bolton won over Houston in OT 23-20 in regular season, the Mustangs are looking for a little revenge. What are some thoughts of this round 1 matchup at Bolton?
  6. Those LBs are definitely worthy (I know from experience personally), but Link is out, if I'm not mistaken, for the season.
  7. it dances and its pink, whats not to like about it
  8. If White Station, Wooddale, and Houston all win out, they would all be 6-1 in region 8, but WS and Wooddale would be 9-1 overall. So I guess they'd finish the tie breaker with WS 1st and Wooddale 2nd and Houston would end up 3rd, playing Bolton in rd.1. If Wooddale loses to Cville, WS and Hous would be tied for 1st, but Houston beat WS, so Hous would claim title and #1 spot. Unless the tie breaker works in a different way, that would probably be the end result. Remaining games: White Station vs Hamilton @ Halle (Thurs) Wooddale vs Collierville @Halle (Fri) Houston @ Whitehaven
  9. What about Houston (7-2, 5-1), who has knocked off Germantown and White Station the last 2 weeks and has moved into a 3-way for 1st in region 8? Just speculating
  10. Also, conditions on the field hindered some offensive production for both teams. It was a pretty wet and muddy out there. Regardless, an intense defensive dogfight.
