  1. Ok enough mistakes, I moved to Kansas not Missouri. We don't play until the spring out here. But thanks for remembering me!! Go Dawgs Courtney
  2. CPA 2 CA 1 1 - 1 at the end of regulation, CPA Scoredmidway through the 2nd OT Good Luck to CPA at State!
  3. Natasha could have been carded twice for running in to the keeper (without making any effort to avoid the keeper), not counting the one where she got "injured", that was a clean 50/50 ball in the air. But such is the game some get called and some do not, all you can hope for is fair and consistant calls, Not last night for sure. The assigner should have brought in out of area officials for this game!! But the bottom line is Giles County Played Well and CA didn't put the ball in the net. I wish Giles County luck with FRA on Saturday. Hope somebody gives FRA directions to the field, it's difficult to find if you don't know where you're going
  4. Well Here It Comes Round Four Of The Heavy Weight Bout Featuring Giles County At Columbia Academy. Thursday Night @ Columbia Academy, 7:00 Pm, For The Region 6 Crown. Should Be A Great Game, Hope The Referees Are In Good Shape Because This One Will Be Up And Down The Field All Night Long!! Good Luck To All The Girls And May They Decide Who Wins The Game, Not The Referees!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  6. Try again Pba Kid here is The Page Team Averages from their standings sheet. Check it out... http://www.jaymarfec.com/pdf/F-2007-Fall/F...A-Boys-9of9.pdf
  7. Apples to Apples not Apples To Oranges Kid. We're not talking about football, baseball nor basketball here. I believe I stated that bowling was the sport in question.
  8. catsbackr, I agree with that thought for the singles titles but it would not resolve the team situation I'm addressing. You would still have teams with extremely limited student bodies trying to compete with the Goliath sized high schools. It's not going to solve anything except to create a single championship within the team division, still heavily favoring the larger high schools. If I had a bullet proof solution I would present it, I'm just trying to get a good discussion going and maybe a solution could be found.
  9. The time has come for the TSSAA to split the Team Portion of Division 1 into 2 separate divisions. The small schools (A & AA aren't being represented in the state team finals. They all to often are grouped into a district with 4A and 5A schools that have a far larger pool of students to build a team from. High School Bowling in Tennessee is growing every year with more and more High Schools fielding teams. Some of these smaller schools have individuals that can compete on the top level but trying to field a team of 6 girls and 6 boys that can compete is near impossible. We are in a district that has about all of the various High School Student Bodies covered. Our smallest High School is under 200 and the largest is over 1600. Think about it objectively and chime in as you wish I'm sure that this will be interesting to say the least.
  10. Correct pin count was Soddy Daisy 3444 - Columbia Central 3122
  11. stephen, You're not even in his league! Keep dreaming and keep working grasshopper.
  12. Catsbackr, I can't speak for the other states, but I can speak about this. There are a ton of bowlers that can't even tell you why they're averaging 200 and up that are. The current conditions allowed by the USBC allow for the oil patterns to be such that it is easy to hit the pocket. I'm old and remember what bowling used to be, before that current situation begin. The reason you won't see a flat pattern in any bowling center is that the league bowlers will complain to the management and not wanting to lose those league bowlers the management will change to an easier shot. TOO many bowlers want to shoot big scores and hold high averages with out knowing how or why they are doing it. I can remember when bowling a 300 was a once in a lifetime feat, now bowlers think they should shoot a 300 every week or so. There's no doubt that the equipment and the allowed conditions have outpaced the original skill for high scoring. I believe like Brian Voss does, that equipment and conditions should be limited and skill should be brought back into the game. Until then we'll just live in what we have and watch kids shoot astronomical scores before they're actually able to understand or explain why. Good luck to you and your bowlers in States it is always a fun time for the kids.
  13. There is a minimum required, you must compete in 2/3 of your district matches games. The only bowlers that are getting additional games are the individuals that happen to be on the strong TEAMS. That is a benefit of belonging to a strong team, but it is a negative for a good bowler to be on a weak team. Be glad that your bowlers are on good teams that's a positive experience! Bottom line in this state the shots are powder puff cake walks to say the least. TSSAA should require that all high school matches are to be bowled on a flat oil condition and then we'll see how many kids average 200 - 230.
  14. No matter how you limit the qualifiers for state tournament someone some where will have a complaint. I like the idea of having the top 10 or 15 percent qualify state wide, but then you have to level the playing field and only allow a maximum number of matches to allow for equal opportunities.
  15. It doesn't matter what level you're playing at bad call happen. I was at the Vanderbilt vs Miss St game yesterday and the ref blew a call in Miss St's box in the 2nd OT and it resulted in a goal winning the game for Vandy. So don't think that High School is the only place that bad calls affect the games! /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  16. We've had horrible officials most of the season and tonight was no exception. The center ref was watching the world series or something but it was the game most of the time. It's always bad when the ref either doesn't control the game or calls to much. Let the girls play and be consistent. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  17. Well we have a full time soccer field at school with lights and have to go play on a torn up football field tonight so I feel your pain. Atleast we're at 6:00 so most can attend. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  18. Columbia Academy by your system 18 points
  19. Another big game tonight is Jackson Christian at Columbia Academy @ 6:30. Should be a good game they played to a 1-1 tie last year in oppressive heat. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  20. At CA we have 5 girls that play club but all travel 30 - 45 minutes to play. In Columbia there is 1 u-15 & 1 u-16 club girls team but they struggle to keep a team together so if the girls want to learn in a competitive environment and have a chance to play on a great team they have to travel to Franklin.
  21. Splitting division 1 into two classifications would probably encourage some of the smaller schools to field teams. We are a small school but field a team and try to compete with the larger schools, we hold our own but don't have a selection of bowlers to choose from. The larger schools hold try outs and cut players to make a final roster, we take on all students and try to teach them as best we can. Yes I'll agree that finding quality coaching is difficult but it's funny to me to hear someone complain about that when they live near the larger cities in Tennessee. Nashville, Knoxville & Chattanooga & Memphis have large bowling associations with a large quantity of high average bowlers, TAP THE RESOURCE and you'll find your quality coaches!! Think about it if you want the sport to grow you have to prvide a reasonable playing field for the teams. If not the small schools won't even try to field a team. Why would they if they get slaughtered every week and have no chance of competing?
