Sevier County beats East 11-1 at Carson Newman. The Matthews kid who is a catcher for Sevier is a stud. If I'm not mistaken he's only a sophmore too.

DeWayne Wells from what I've heard is the front runner for the job. Billy Seals' name has been thrown out there, but I know Coach Seals and he's not leaving Hunington. He's built that program from the ground up and his wife's family is up there. Also a college from Penn. has interest in him. I've also heard Carson-Newman assistant coach and former Univeristy of Tennessee LB Nick Reviz's name has been thrown out there. He has the name but it would be a huge risk IMO. Just so young and no head coaching experience. Like I said, Wells is mostly likely the next head coach. I'd be completely shocked if he wasn't.

Monday's Morristown East vs. Symour game could be played on Friday. Remains to be seen. East's game against Austin-East Friday has been canceled and the Hurricanes will travel to Knox Central Saturday for a game at 1. Like it was said, this Hurricane team is extrememly young. Not many upper classmen. Their JV squad I think only has 1 loss on the season. Their sophmore class is loaded with talent. This team is a year away from contending for the conference and in 2 years it will be scary how talented they'll be. Also I made the trip to Bearden Saturday for our game and Lane Thomas is the real deal. I've never seen a high school player as good as him in this region. Hit 2 homers off of us and came in to pitch and got the W. It is good to see former Cane John Rice having success at Bearden though.

I'm out of town and saw East on 42-7. Can anybody tell me how the game went and how Tee Howell did?

crazy game. Anderson County comes out and makes it 14-0 within just minutes and East goes and rallies off 34 unanswered points. Anderson County comes back with a couple of scores, down by 6 with just seconds left Anderson County tosses a hail marry into the endzone and it's picked off by East to seal the deal. 'Canes win 41-35

what are your thoughts on this game? any Anderson Co. fans around to tell us what to expect outta your team? I'm interested to see how we'll use Tee Howell again. I wonder if he's going to play QB most of the time or if we use him as the hybrid that he's been playing for a while. should be a good game and Go 'Canes!

it's 21-18 Mo. East right now late in the 3rd qt. The Hurricanes' offense has yet to even get the field in the 3rd qt. because Howell had back to back kickoff returns Howell did everything for this team last year. Played QB, RB, WR, DB. Had a 7.9 YPC last year and is picking up from where he left off last year. This kid has to get looked at by some D-1 schools

East High QB/RB Tee Howell is amazing. Has 1 TD pass, 2 Kickoff returns for TD's and an INT tonight. It's a heck of a game right now

congrats to Greeneville I always hated playing there because of the incline in the corner of the endzone. when they put down the field turf, did that knock that out?
