Anybody know of coaches who never played even one year of varsity basketball? Do they get less respect from players and the community if they never played themselves? Just interested in knowing what people think. I think that if they know and love the game they deserve their chance.

Nobody seems to be talking about Upperman...they will be back next year...possibly even better than this year even thought they graduate four seniors this year. Watch out, bet on it. Smith Co. could be a dark horse for the tourney too.

Congats to a good season from JC, i read the updates and looks like Gleason is going to get the W. Watch out for 7-A next year. jackson county and Clarkrange are going to be powerhouses for the next few years.

Who wouldnt talk about Brown and his girls?! Looks like this game is over...good job Gleason. Brown deserves something for his accomplishments this season. He lost three starters and is playing mostly fresmen this year and still made it to the state semis...thats sound coaching...Gleason, ill be watching you play for the gold ball tommorrow! Good luck!

Uppermanby 10-15...Upperman's press will really show up in this one. Ive heard AE likes to play fast and if they miss a few consecutive shots they could be taken out of this one real quick.

Jim Brown can just about out-coach anybody! If you go in overconfident, just be ready for a scare before the game's over because he's never unprepared.

Sounds like Upperman better wake up! NS is showing them why they are number 1!

Good game to both teams...I wouldlove to see an all 7-AA championship game! Lets just hope Upperman gets it done today...i kno LA wants another shot at them and what better chance to play them again than for the gold ball.

JaCo isnt a particularly fast team but that doesnt seem to put them in as many disadvantages as you would think. If Dyer can be contained, then you have a chance. No offense but when i saw Gleason's strength of schedule, i figured they would get beaten pretty quikly in state but after beating Forrest i will probably have to make them the favorite. Good job ladies! Ill have to say that they pull it out 36-34.

Thanks...i knew it was hill something! LOL...It was my first time watching them so i couldnt remenber the name that well. Livingston is probably the favorite if the winner of Upperman and NS gets upset. LA is a very tough team who can beat ANYBODY when they take the notion to.

Nobody is disrespecting them but people are kinda focused on a big game coming up thurs. Check the rankings, Northside and Upperman are ranked #1 and #2 in the state! Good luck to AE!

If you're talking about the game thursday, its being played at MTSU at 12:30 so...there will be plenty of seats and i think the college will be easy enough to find...

Yeah it was a great championship game(and thats the one i watched! lol) But my point waas that all throughout the game NS was on their heels and that Hillsboro's speed made the difference in the end. Im not trying to bash them in any way, but thats just how i remember it. NS was behind the whole game and DID make a run though. Awesome championship game ill agree. And i must say that whoever wins this game(NS vs. Upperman) will probably be the state champion.

clarkrange with the gold ball over Jackson County. This could probably be the championship game for the next couple of years when you look at these two teams' rosters.

I wont hand the gold ball to the Lady Bees yet but when i wacthed NS last year they couldnt seem to keep up witht the other team's speed. (It was hillsboro i THINK) And the Lady Bees play this exact same pace. I just dont think NS will be able to keep up and keep the turnovers down. Upperman by 5.

Clarkrange will begin their journey to yet another state title this year...and if they happen to get upset before they reach that goal, guess what? The whole team except one player will returns next year to dominate and they will only have one senior next year too...

Since the game will be the only one at the school(i think) It will probably be at 7. Thats how the first round of the region tournament went...but i couls be wrong.

McMinn is very good...but LA will prove to be too battle tested for them...they will jump up by double digits in the first and win by 10

...Gordonsville is going to be very good. only losong one starter.

Who is Upperman's closest challenger? I know they arent currently ranked number 1 but they are the best team in the state.

I havent jumped on any bandwagons, i just see them for what they are, probably the best team in TN. Some people just cant see that...im not knocking the LA team in any way...and when i said that they find ways to win i didnt mean it in a bad way. LA is a tough, gritty defensive team. And i dont evenn know why you brought the DC girls team into this. That was kind of a low blow, they are a struggling program and the girls and coaches did all they could.
