  1. I don't agree at all. Upperman didn't lose too much. They lost 5 seniors, but they have replaced them with some good basketball players, and better athletes. I don't understand the comment on the coach running them off??? I don't know of any good players he has run off. If you know of someone please inform me. No seniors this year but should contend with Livingston. I agree livingston is the team to beat, but don't count out Upperman they have a great balance on offense. Outta be a good battle between LA and Upperman this year and next year as well. Can't wait.
  2. I will have to agree with everyone else. LA should be the preseason favorite no doubt, especially with what they are returning. However, that's why the game is played. College football has showed us what Preseason rankings are worth. LOL! Since I am from Upperman I will give a little insight to their returning players. Dustin Baxter approx. 6'4 wing player has greatly improved over the summer. Carrin Nash will do the work inside, and remember his name i think he will be something special eventually. Ethan Christian, younger brother of Emily Christian, can shoot the lights out if you dare him to shoot. No surprise there that he should be a heck of a player. The rest of the players are gonna be interesting to see. Not to sure of some of them but Coach McWilliams is a great coach and spends so much time with these kids he's bound for success every year. It should be a very exciting and fun season in district 7AA just as it always is. 1. Livingston 2. Upperman The rest i have no idea, flip a coin.
  3. Let's see some school spirit and hear from those who think they know will win this semi final matchup between the road runners and the lady bees!!! You know who i think will win.. And i bet i know why ldyer is pulling for too. Lady bees get used to murfreesboro, cause you may be there a lot in the next few years.
  4. The game comes down to this in my opinion. How well will NS handle the constant pressure put on them by the Lady Bees!! This will play a vital role in the outcome of the game. If they get sloppy and don't handle the pressure very well, it could be a big win in uppermans favor.. However if the do handle it well, how good will Upperman come out shooting the basketball. New gym with different surroundings. If they shoot the ball well early look for Upperman to jump up early and win. By the way Brandi Brown (from York) plays for MTSU.
  5. Upperman will win by 20. I doubt that Sequatchie has been put to the test like Upperman has all year long. Good quick defense and deadly shooting puts the bees a huge favorite in my book.
  6. As you can tell I am a huge Upperman Fan. I really like the two coaches we have here in Baxter, and enjoy going to the games in the new gymnasium. I know how hard it is to beat a team three times in one year. Sometimes no matter how good they are it is a hard thing to do. I will however take the lady bees because i think they are playing pretty well right now. I would also like to add that I think this area has the best talent of girls basketball in the whole state, and i would love nothing more than to see livingston again in the state tourney. Cause if we do meet again it will be for the gold ball. I think that would garner some attention from the rest of the state to see two district 7AA teams battling a 5th time for the state championship. Go Lady Bees!!! and good luck to OLD HOG EYE in the Substate and hopefully State tournament.
  7. Region MVP not only comes from someone in the championship game, but to the team that wins the tournament. Even though ferris had a good two games she will not get the MVP.
  8. NO I don't agree with there being two barn burners at all!!! I look for the better teams to win, and win big. I pick Livingston over Smith by 10+. And as far as Upperman and DCA go I'll take the Lady Bees by 35.
  9. Wow!!! Candace Parker Huh??? Well we all know she'll never be that good. That shouldn't even be an argument. As for the best player in the state?? I really doubt that will ever happen either. I mean what is the big hype about her, I just don't understand. And how is she a a miss basketball candidate when she isn't even the best player in her district. Sure she is 6'8 and can score inside over some smaller girls every now and then, but to say she is one of the three best basketball "players" in the state is wrong. She may surprise me if she works hard and gets alot better but right now, no way is she going to UT. We are talking about one of the best teams in the Country, and she can't win a district championship for her team. Maybe the future holds bright for her with a lot of work and dedication to the game on her part but right now I think the hype around her is way too big. Miss Basketball candidates don't miss a ton of free throws and let smaller post (and i mean way smaller post) dominate her come tournament time. Her height may get her a great scholarship somewhere one day, but the playing time will never be there if the quickness and coordination doesn't come together. As far as the game between them and LIvingston??? Give me HOGEYE by 20!!! Get Uses to It..
  10. We all know how tough it is to win a region tournament game. However with that said, I really think this years teams in 7AA have a descent chance of pulling off some upsets. Good luck to each team in district 7AA. Good luck to the tigers of Dekalb. My bees probably have the hardest way to go, but i guess anything can happen. I'd like to see the final four in baxter all from 7AA but that may be wishful thinking. I just hope this year if a team from district 7AA plays a team out of the other district that they will get some support from their other district teams. I've noticed in the past in this district that some schools will cheer against another team in this district to lose, and i think that is very wrong. Good luck, and let the tournaments begin!!!!!
  11. Ok I believe you are so badly mistaken here. I do believe we have won a game in the region in the last five years. As far as baseball goes, just look out for Livingston, Upperman, and Dekalb this year. you better watch those teams in basketball as well
  12. Hit a soft spot did I??? Well, I guess only time will tell us about the future of this district, but no i haven't given up on Upperman this year either. Upperman is definitely the favorite to win the district, and they will win it, easily.. No close games for Upperman in this tournament. We'll talk some smack after the tournament how does that sound. If LA wins I'll take all the smack you wanna bring,(which I should) but just remember you've laid alot out there yourself. So if Upperman wins just be big enough to take some of what you dish out.
