In 2015, I watched a peaking wildcat team beat the Bears in match 20 (41-35) I believe? They then wrestled the Cleveland team in the finals and I believe they lost (35-26) (In 2013 and 2014, they beat Soddy before making it into finals.) I remember everyone's eyes and shock as the crowd realized that the wildcats had earned the match against the Bears. With their proud history of success, most of their vocal fans were still encouraging them to fight even when it was mathematically impossible to recover. That team and program has been built up in a relatively short time by their coaching staff. They don't have the history that the Chattanooga teams have built, but they Have earned their spot as a high quality team in this state.

MJ not on top 12 of this poll. Beat a top team head to head And earn the right to be listed. Tournament points are not the best Way to compare team strength. Looks like they are exactly where They need to be. Receiving votes, But not enough respect to make the Top 12 of this poll. Polls and rankings are just for kicks. Earn your respect on the mat.

Went to track to view above tourney. MJ brought 5 starters? Did the flu Bug attack the Bears? What happened to the team?

I don't think WC was at full strength either?

Going to be an eye opener event. Tough wrestlers in every bracket.

I hear that Beech and WC aren't at 100% now. Should be interesting.

Very competitive teams. Cant wait to see the cats wrestle Beech.

MJ does have 4-6 studs capable of a podium position in Feb., but most are stacked on top of each other. Team strength increased, but not ranked 9th. Like to see them wrestle SC !

I know Jeff personally. He coached my youngest in travel soccer. I'm not bashing the current feeder program or current coaching staff, BUT Jeff is on a different level as a coach. Just the fact ! He demanded more than most, and the kids rise to his expectation.

BUT, he worked so hard..., it's not his fault..., the scales were heavy..., he deserves..., he should be "Entitled"..., Can't wait to hear about the brackets, venue, medal size, and why they don't medal to 10th place. Stir !

There are rules in place. Every wrestler weighed in on those scales. Please post the long list of wrestlers who did not make weight for all to view. Again, it's a shame. But complaining about the rules will not alter the outcome or the rules. Buckeye, good luck @ State ! How's that ?

Never allow a scale variance to end your season. I bet the team will weigh twice before the state tournament. I would bring a tanita scale for the kids to check weight before arriving at weigh in. If your close, do what you can before you weigh in officially. Sad thing, but could have been prevented. He missed weight because he was too heavy. Period. It's TSSAA not the Olympics or MMA.
