If you are a returning placer and win your region, you usually make it to the third round with ease. If you don’t, because a highly ranked stud from your region in a higher weight class drops and upsets you, then you may have a much tougher road to travel before you step upon the podium. The region results will determine the state bracket. 1&4, 2&3, etc ... I think pin Tn is a good resource. But descending kids could/will put a wrench into the mix...

Boy will you be surprised with kids descending !

Might be a concern for D2 ? Why small school split ? Who is responsible for that idea ?

MJ would have been at the duals this year had there not been a misconduct call on the last wrestler. Beech and MJ tied at region. MJ had more pins 6-5 and I believe we're going to win on criteria, BUT the last MJ wrestler punched the mat and tossed his headgear after his loss. I watched in disbelief as Jeff questioned the call. That gave The victory to Beech . . .

So basically they pulled a MJ ? Arlington was going to win 34-33 but because of conduct, they lost a point?

I agree I know of D2 state placers who never stood on a tournament podium but we're "given" a state tourney medal !

Wish the Wildcats of Wilson County had an opportunity to wrestle the second place team. I think they were the second best team at AAA duals. They had the closest score against Cleveland. I would also state that they have proven over the last 6-7 years to be a quality top 4 team at the duals.

Again Region 4 has a strong history No argument from me

props are good. Top three in state is another thing entirely. People remember those bold statements. Top three in region 4 ? -- OK

Amen brother They have a strong tradition But there hold on the top three is an exaggeration !

A certain region that complains that they have the # 1, 2, and 3 best teams in AAA. And how it is so unfair that they can't bring the #3 team to the duals . . . They probably have the number 1 , but the so called number 2 has been knocked out.

We already know that the number 3 team couldn't make it to the duals. What happened to the number 2 team ? Guess we exaggerated a little?

I don't know if Beech wins? Would be an achievement if they advanced.

cant make it up time clock personnel was horrible for a district event. Cost Beech a take down on a minor loss match. girl let time run out 3-4 seconds at end of period when wrestlers went out and were instructed back to center. Ref restarted and immediately heard yelling.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda, . . . MJ v Beech - I scored 39-39 I think MJ wins on tie breaker ? BUT, last wrestler from MJ who got pinned throws headgear ! Beech advances !

Question for all to consider ... Has MJ pushed themselves outside of their comfort zone? I would say NO ? They have rolled right over those easy victories ! If you do not push, you will not reach your full potential. You gotta play and beat the best to be called the best. We will see what the Bears are made of soon.

We beat 9 teams so far. 5 of those teams haven't won a regional game yet ! Only 3 of the 9 have won more than they have lost ! I haven't checked all the scores today . Yes it is a weak schedule. Im sure MJGB will keep posting quarterly score updates as we progress to tough teams ? We will see how things shake out soon enough !
